so i just watched the hadestown proshot and holy fucking shit i truly think that that is the best proshot i have ever seen so here are some specific things i really loved
amber gray's expressions just wow. she is so expressive and such a phenomenal actress
the way the fates appeared behind orpheus during wait for me
how every time during group numbers the camera focused on a certain person you could hear their vocals more clearly than everyone else
all of the fates
wait for me reprise in 4k with peak sound holy shit eva noblezada i love you so much
the cracking noises during wait for me when the walls opened up
the shots from above/below the stage
how during doubt comes in all the shots were primarily close ups of orpheus so it was hard to tell where eurydice was
one of the people in my theater shouting "NO" when orpheus turned around
literally so many more things i could talk about this proshot for ages
please i beg if you have not/are not intending on seeing it to watch it it is a masterpiece

saw the hadestown proshot today, and all i have to say is AMBER. MF. GRAY. i don’t think y’all comprehend. she could have told the story with JUST her facial expressions. she was so scared for eurydice. so hopeful for orpheus. so angry with hades. and i gathered all of that JUST from her facial expressions. she makes every character she ever plays her own, and i absolutely love that.
something i’ve also come to understand after seeing the proshot is that persephone was not only scared for eurydice, but scared for herself. there were so many times she almost reached for eurydice or orpheus but stopped herself out of fear. so many times you could see her almost say something but stop herself before she could. and in the end, when she finally did stand up for her beliefs and for orpheus and eurydice, it didn’t fix things. it fell apart again. and she will do this again and again because they will sing it again and again.
persephone deserves so much better.
amber gray was the absolute STAR of the hadestown proshot. i mean, they all killed it as per usual, but i really have to give her her flowers (no pun intended) for the acting decisions she made and how well they translated to screen. award her everything right now.
