Cookie was my daughter for 10 years. She was 6 when I adopted her. July 1, 2026 we had to say goodbye. I thought to myself, in numbers, she was a part of my life 26% of my life, and 63% of hers. Ready to run, jump, and wiggle at a moment's notice. I'm still crying two weeks later and I don't think I'll ever stop, not really.

I wasn't able to see her off for certain reasons but I trust my mom was with her.

When it's time to part with your beloved pets: Please do not leave them looking for you. Stay with them until the end.

It's unnecessarily cruel to have them searching for you in their final moments, likely already sick, and nervous being surrounded by strangers.

They deserve comfort in knowing you're with them while they pass. You were likely there for the majority, if not all, of their lives. Don't abandon them at the end.

things've been a bit tight lately. i work reduced hours due to disability and it's kinda thrashing my ass, plus i'd really like to be able to afford gender care stuff in the near future. so i'd be real grateful if u kicked me a couple bucks~

Now. This quote: “Real darkness has love for a face.” I’ve read this DE quote many times! But today as I was scrolling, I saw in on this post and for the first time I realized that I might have been reading this quote wrong this whole time?

Hear me out. I really only know how to speak English, but I’ll often say “Ik hou van jou” to my husband, whose first language is Dutch. “Ik hou van jou” means “I love you” but it literally translates as “I have love for you.” And so I guess that’s just become very normal in my brain? I have love for him. I have love for my friends and family.

So I’ve always read this as:

Real darkness [subject]

has love for[action]

a face [target of action]

And only just today I realized this is probably mean to be read:

Real darkness [subject]

has [action]

love [item]

for [instead of]

a face [item]

This is a mascot/avatar character I created to use. Her name is Cassini Jade (CJ) and she is a Moon Pig (Moop).

She lives in a small satellite orbiting Saturn. The satellite is a repeater station that helps move messages across multiple galaxies. She is the only Moop stationed in the Milky Way, and lives alone on the station. The Milky Way is pretty out of the way of most Moon Pig colonies, so not many messages come through - but she believes keeping the station running is an important job that she takes seriously.
