As much as I rant abt idw Rodimus g1 Rodimus will always be superior in terms of story and character. He just has a lot more personality and tragedy to him. Like oh yeah boohoo idw Rodimus blew up his hometown but it’s like that’s never explored beyond the issues he blew up the town in. With g1 Rodimus the tragedy of Hot Rod being forced to take on a role that is actively killing his whimsy and joy and is a job he’s obviously burdened by is something you see extensively throughout the entirety of the time he’s on screen. And that folks is why he’s the superior guy and why I don’t have complaints about him ever. I can make up shit in my head and it won’t be me making scenarios up it’ll be making shit up BECAUSE of scenarios

Like all my posts about Nyon and about how Rodimus might grieve it is all. Well it’s all make believe. Nyon is not something that is mentioned beyond Autocracy.

With G1 though I can say “yeah Rodimus doesn’t like being Rodimus and he’s burdened by it, he hates his job, he wants to be seen as Normal and not treated as a person with power. He’s severely depressed.” And I’ll have like 9 episodes to back up the claim. He gives the matrix back to a half dead Optimus bc he did not want that shit.
