Capitol Hill is fucked. The people there were rioters, domestic terrorists, and an affront to democracy itself.
However, if I see one more uninformed post about "hurr durr this is yt privalege" I'm going to rupture a blood vessel. More people were killed by law enforcement during this majority white (and fun fact; the people... Well, person, confirmed to have been shot and killed by law enforcement was in fact, white), which lasted less than 12 hours total, than the entirety of the CHAZ/CHOP occupation.
CHAZ lasted nearly a month from start to finish, was more racially diverse than this last shitshow, and had 0 police-caused fatalities. 0. The 2021 riot had more than 0... Not many (1 confirmed, 3 others that are alleged to be "medical complications"), but still more.
Tear gas, riot gear and pepper spray were used during both the riots leading up to CHAZ as well as this one. Both happened in the same neighbourhood, under the same government. Both had thousands who could at the end of it all, were able to walk away undetained. So this narrative of "iF iT wAs pEoPLe oF CoLOr tHeY wOuLd HaVe bEeN mAsSaCrEd" is utter fucking bullshit (of course, the majority of people I see touting this narrative are whiter than an inbred school-shooting cuckold, but I digress). Anybody who seriously tries to assert that this "white privilege" is clueless.
Businesses were prepared to deal with violence and looting. They were boarding up the day before. Hell, the National Guard was even called in. Violent countermeasures against rioters were employed (which they deserved: You fuck around, you're gonna find out). Arrests were made, and eventually, the rioting dispersed with little more actually damaged than the Capitol building (at least as of now; I'm yet to see information that any looting or vandalism to other businesses, homes, or other civilian property took place). So again, the narrative that the public was "complacent because they were white" is blatantly false.
The rioters absolutely deserved to be condemned for being petulant, undemocratic, hostile, brainwashed and uninformed. They were in no way, shape, or form in the right, and were the puppets of a delusional, immature, narcissistic shit-for-brained megalomaniac. But every single person who tried/tries to race-bait this is almost, if not entirely, as indoctrinated by their own camp.
Now, this isn't to say that the anti-racism camp hasn't ever had a leg to stand on, especially regarding issues like racial profiling and disproportionate police brutality. To reiterate, it is to say that any claims made about this being "proof" of some sort of racial-privilege-whatever-the-fuck are entirely baseless. Fight your fight all you want, but don't do it with lies (like much of these "anti-racist" movements have been doing for years now). Don't be liars and hypocrites; either on its own is bad enough.
It's fucking ridiculous. The "progressives," the "patriots," the "stolen votes..." All of it.
