Love the idea of a story about a complex issue that's told from the perspective of something that cannot comprehend or care about the issue. The way the story would be sliced up and moments that a human would consider pointless would be focused on because the pigeon happened to be there would be hype as fuck

we need more non white writers in doctor who because realistically if the master regenerated into what humans perceive as an indian british man his instinct would not be to join the nazis, it would be to troll the hell out of everyone. the master would be like "ugh. unit is always racially profiling me" and the doctor would be like "you literally tried to set london on fire" and the master would be like "wow, doctor, racist much? just assuming i'm a criminal because i'm a brown man?" and the doctor would be like "three hundred years ago you tried to blow up the taj mahal" and the master would be like "what can i say? it was in the way"
crucially, where the doctor is more or less indifferent to human bigotry and identity (and would just be confused if subjected to misogyny), the master is really invested in human bigotry and identity and, more to the point, finds them hilarious. john simm's master would complain about reverse racism, michelle gomez's master would be catty and misogynistic to clara and then be like i can't be sexist, i'm literally a woman, i could not more clearly be wearing high heels, and sacha dhawan's master would commiserate with yaz about racism whilst telling her to her face that she is lesser than him for being human

Gentrification creates a stifling homogeneity in urban areas that makes it less suited for the everyday lives of the lower class and more suited towards the leisure and tourism of those with expendable income.
An old, decrepit laundromat gets replaced by an upscale bakery? And people are mad? It’s not that the poor hate organic vegan cupcakes, it’s that most of us don’t have a way to do laundry in our own home.
Run-down corner stores replaced by hand-made designer clothing boutiques? We don’t hate your eco-fabric shawl, but I can’t eat that for dinner after work like I could have a can of beans I grabbed from that corner store when I don’t have time to take the bus to the real grocery store after work.
What gentrification brings in and of itself is not typically bad, it’s that gentrification brings institutions of leisure and pleasure and makes it so that the poor have to go farther out of their way for basic necessities. It turns low-income living spaces into local tourist attractions. It can even create food deserts by putting restaurants, grocery stores, etc. in that the majority of the lower class cannot afford.
Imagine if someone totally renovated your house and turned it into a mini theme park - they took away your sleeping space, where you prepare food, where you clean yourself and get ready for your day, and replaced it with things that will please people who are visiting, who have their own homes they can go back to, who are here not for their entire life but just as a distraction from their otherwise mundane existence. It’s not that you hate theme parks, it’s not like you’ve never been to a theme park and vow to never visit one again. It’s just that you need to live! To survive! And the leisure of those who have more than you should not invalidate your existence.
I am glad this has made the rounds. Some people feel a dense misunderstanding or misinterpretation concerning gentrification, and I think it helps to hear a description/explanation of what gentrification is from those who are both affected by it and educated by the culture from which it hails. I and many others enjoy some of the delights of gentrification while simultaneously having their livelihoods threatened by it.

Archie Panjabi as the rani was legitimately such a stellar casting choice, I need her to do big finish stuff and have them just ignore the fact that a big cgi monster ate her. If we can breeze past all the masters “deaths” with a wave of the hand we can do it for the queen of amoral science projects too.
I still think she should show up now possessed by Omega - she wasn't eaten, she was processed. And then after a little while she shakes Omega off and is back to being the Rani.
That's a good idea.
My preferred option is that it wasn't Omega at all, it was a product of the reality-altering effects of the wish world. (You can tell because it was fuck all like Omega.) So once reality was restored, the Rani was returned to existence. Maybe the Doctor even made sure of it when he made his adjustments.
Oh I also think what we saw wasn't Omega, it was an updated version of the Gell Gaurds and it didn't eat the Rani per say, it captured her and stored her inside it to take back to the original Omega for possesion purposes.
