Tobio has no interest in tattoos.
(But he can't help thinking as he watches his idiot best friend get inked up, that, deep inside him, where no one can see, there's something written across his heart, scarred and permanent).
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and all Atsumu wanted was to congratulate his rival on a game well-played. Really, that was it.
So how did he end up in this bed, naked, panting heavily, staring transfixed at the bead of sweat traveling slowly down the chiseled, bare torso of that insufferable Oikawa Tooru?
Sometimes Tooru really does just want to take a bite out of Tobio's ass.

Drunk Katsuki tends to make inadvertent sex eyes at random strangers. (He's really just sleepy and can't keep his eyes fully open).
He always gets annoyed when Shouto hauls him up by his collar and drags him home, but Shouto simply can't allow that shit to continue.
Hey Tumblr.
So I have had...several medical procedures this year. Two colonoscopies...the first as a checkup for management of Crohn's disease, and the second three months later because the first found inflammation in my large intestine and the doc adjusted my meds. Second showed improvement so that's great!
I have also this year, after a Lot Of Shit, been diagnosed with endometriosis. My left ovary, in fact, is completely encysted in a 9.2 cm endometrioma. In one month and two days I am having surgery to completely remove the cyst, which will involve completely removing my left ovary. (Righty is hanging on and being a model citizen so far, no cysts at all currently.) After going back and forth with my care team and considering options, I'm going to follow their reccomendations and also undergo a hysterectomy at the same time. Right ovary can stay for now.
This, since American healthcare is a hellscape, costs money. I've done the regular measures to reduce the bills, but they're still adding up. I've maxed out my FSA already for the year and still have about $4,500 to go before I hit out of pocket maximum for my insurance for the year.
So. Any help to defray medical costs...the ones already incurred and the ones I'm about to...would be wildly appriciated.

If you can't help, that's fine. If you can, I love you.
Incidentally, the OBGYN surgeon I'm going to is the best in the area, and when I asked if I could get the misbehaving little bastard organs in a jar of preservative to display as a warning to the rest, he said 'that is actually against Illinois state law' with significant audible regret in his voice as his nurse laughed until she snorted while charting.
Love you Doctor Robb.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single volleyball idiot in possession of a volleyball must be in want of another volleyball idiot.
â[kink] is bad because [thing the kink is based on] is badâ is such a funny take. weâre acting. you hate theater. youâre standing up in the audience and mansplaining to lady macbeth that killing people is wrong
i am seriously enjoying this tasty fic. go check it out and give the author some love!

When Tooru wants something, he goes for it.
So what does he do when he finally figures out that he wants, of all things, Kageyama Tobio?
The irony does not escape him.
Nor does wanting to bang his head against the wall until the it goes away. (That jerk? Really? He wants that single-minded, obsessive, idiotic, rival? Whatâs wrong with him?)
Since the head-banging isnât a viable option (he likes his brains, thank you very much â theyâre absolutely, one hundred-percent, his most formidable weapon on the court), what does he decide to do instead but squish these inexplicable feelings into a compact ball and eject them â forcibly â from his mind.
Most unfortunately, this strategy doesnât work.
When heâs woken up for the fourth day in a row with a wet patch in his bed and lurid visions of Kageyama fading into the backs of his eyelids (could that guy really, truly, ever look like that?), he doubles down and tries harder.  (Is it really that impossible to not think about someone?)
It is.
Not only does he end up flubbing five serves in a row in a practice scrimmage, but he snaps at Iwa-chan (really snaps, with teeth bared and everything, Iwaizumi giving him a black but nonetheless wounded look in return).
Something has to be done.
Unfortunately, he knows in his bones  (heâs no idiot, despite Makki and Mattsonâs constant aspersions to the contrary), that that something is to ask Kageyama out. On a date. In no uncertain terms, so even that King of Fools will understand what heâs saying. There will be no room for subtlety here, or anything remotely resembling plausible deniability.
He will have to spell it out.
He sets his jaw, squares his shoulders, and prepares to map out Kageyamaâs minute-by-minute schedule so he can just do it, already.
âI hate you but I want to take you out on a date,â he says grimly, having cornered Kageyama behind the gym (where, unsurprisingly, the lunkhead spends every waking moment). It was important to preface the request thusly, as he already feels like itâs his head heâs offering on a silver platter (just waiting for said lunkhead to carelessly stamp on it with his giant, clod-like feet) rather than an offer of a date.
Kageyama stares at him unblinkingly. He stares for so long that Tooru wonders (for the millionth time) why the hell heâs into this dummy. Nonetheless, he grits his teeth and flat-out bears the nightmarish wait while the wheels turn, ever so slowly, in that equally clod-like skull of the absurd object of his affections.
(His mind, unhelpfully, chooses this moment to go into analytic overdrive. What does it mean, this blank stare? Are the wheels turning in there? Is Kageyama weighing the pros and cons? Trying to figure out if itâs a yea or a nay? Doing âeeny, meany, miney, moâ in his head? What could possibly be taking him so long? Or did Kageyama simply not hear him? Will Tooru, God forbid, have to repeat himself? He shudders internally at this hideous possibility. Why, oh why, he wails silently, has he put himself in this position? Itâs too late to back out now, though).
An eternity later, Kageyama grimaces; Tooruâs heart immediately plummets.
Heâs in the process of picking it up off the ground (he may be the worldâs biggest ninny to be interested in Kageyama Tobio in the first place, but at least heâll walk away with dignity and lick his stupidly painful wounds in private) when Kageyamaâs dumb face smooths out and his lips twitch â weirdly.
Tooruâs heart leaps up off the ground of its own accord.
Could it be â is it â is this the Tobio-chan version of a smile? (Come to think of it, heâs never seen that dunderhead smile, has he?)
Dare he hope?
The moment stretches on in all its tormenting uncertainly until Kageyama says, simply, âOkay.â
It takes Tooru a second (a very long second, probably lasting at least 20 in all) to realize that Kageyama is responding to his question. Not only that, heâs responding in the affirmative. Heâs agreeing to a date!
Tooru has an unbearably strong urge to fall to his knees in thanks or lift both arms up in victory. Luckily, he does neither. Nor does he voice his disbelief at what, ultimately, has turned out to be unbelievably easy acquiescence on Kageyamaâs part. He thought he was going to have to work a lot harder for such acquiescence, and, frankly, he wasnât at all sure of his chances of securing it.
Yet, secure it he has.
âOkay, then,â he replies, for lack of something better to say.
But Kageyamaâs dull, cloddish face has taken on an expectant look.
Which is dumber than ever, for thereâs nothing left to expect. Tooru has played his cards.
Unless⌠Kageyama wants more information? Which⌠would kind of make sense. He probably wants to know what said date is going to consist of, where it will occur, when, and a myriad of other relevant logistical details.
Which Tooru himself doesnât know, because that was as far as he got in the planning stage. Â (Embarrassing as it is to admit, even to himself, he purposefully hadnât done so. He hadnât wanted to jinx himself. Or perhaps he hadnât wanted to face the emotional devastation of investing even more of his precious time time coming up with the perfect date only to have Kageyama reject him.).
Luckily, fortune does indeed favor the bold (or is it the stupid?). He is (as he is so often on the court) hit with sudden inspiration. An image flashes into his mind, of Kageyama slurping up the contents of a milk box with the ferocious determination he applies to everything he cares about, the fiend.
âWeâre getting milk shakes,â he says, pleased to hear the confidence in his own voice. (Surely Kageyama canât resist the prospect of milkshakes?) âSaturday at 3. Meet me at the place across from The Four Corners â the one next to the hardware store.â
âOkay,â repeats Kageyama.
This time it is most definitely a smile: widening by the second, toothy, and ugly as sin.
The sight of that ghastly grin is unnerving in so many ways (why do crushes feel like snakes slithering over oneâs guts?) that it leaves Tooru dumbstruck.
All he can do is nod, but he does so particularly forcefully.
Kageyama nods back, still smiling like the Grim Reaper.
The date is set.
Tooru has won.
He canât believe it â he really canât believe it. But he sure as hell isnât letting that show, so he nods one more time, spins around, and walks away. He doesnât look back.
His heart is banging in his chest.
He fucking has a date with Tobio-chan.
Saturday at 3.
(When Tooru wants something, he goes for it. And he usually gets it.)

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
When a photo of Osamu hauling bags of rice somehow hits the internet at the wrong time and goes viral, Keiji surprises himself with the strength of his desire to murder every single person reposting that damn picture.
I love AO3 and all its wonderful, generous, gorgeous, hilarious writers.
It's embarrassing when Tooru comes to visit and Tobio forgot to change the screen saver which, conveniently, projects onto his largest wall. (No, it's not rotating through a full thousand pictures of Tooru, but it's close enough).

Tooru wears his glasses outside of their apartment, and the internet explodes.
Now they know what I have to deal with on a daily basis, thinks Tobio to himself (smugly).
Osamu really, really, really hates it when assholes try to chat up Keiji in his restaurant.
