Know your own mind and what works for you; donât ever let others tell you how to do things if you are happy with your own results. A guy asked on a post I was following whether 40 was too old to start lifting weights; my answer was the image above. Then some other random guy jumped in and told me I was wrong, I couldnât believe someone was trying to tell me that I was doing too much weights and that it was unnecessary and ineffective to work out more the 3 days a week. At 55 and only been into serious training since April I have lost 45 lbs, every 4 days I increase either reps or weight on nearly all exercises, I no longer have tablets for high cholesterol and high blood pressure. So that doesnât sound to me like it is ineffective. So to this guy people like @schwarzenegger are the same obviously it was ineffective for him to work out 6 days a week hitting every muscle group twice with one rest day. My take from this only increased my desire to continue to do what I am doing. âBe your own boss in the gym as no one else is working out but you. You know what you want to achieve and how youâre going to get there, it is no ones journey but your ownâ Two of the greats I admire are @thedorianyates & Sergio Oliva Snr, the reason why is simple they devised their own unique way or working out that suited their own purpose and achieved the results they wanted.
