The other day I saw a story where a woman was asking why her dogs had suddenly started growling at her boyfriend whenever he was in the same room as her son.

And my immediate thought was ‘that boyfriend has hurt the kid somehow.’

Spoilers: that was exactly the case.

Fast forward about six months when I went north to visit my family. My sister walked into my parents’ house and pupper ran to greet my sister. Stopped dead in her tracks and started growling and barking. Hackles raised, full protection mode. My sisters husband had just walked in behind her.

My precious puppy wanted NOTHING to do with him. She barked, growled, ran away, and sat between him and my sister. Y'all my dog had spent maybe a weekend a half around my sister but protected her like this was her flesh and blood.

Eventually, my sister filed for divorce on grounds of “Extreme and repeated mental, emotional, and sexual abuse.” Divorce was final in less than a month because her claims were substantiated.

There was this one horse I worked with named Tonto. He was a doll. He followed me like a puppy, snuck treats out of my pocket, he was the sweetest thing. We were practically inseparable.

A guy I was considering dating came to visit me one day, and Tonto wanted NOTHING to do with him. Normally well behaved, he shoved himself between us and would NOT let this guy near me. He was stomping, acting really aggressive, and tried to bite the guy. This horse was practically dragging me back toward the barn. At that moment, despite being like, 17, I knew something was up, and ultimately things didn’t pan out for guy and me.

A year later I found out he had lied about his age (he said he was 18 but he was actually 27) he was arrested for sexually assaulting an 11 year old girl.

When I first met my husband, I liked another guy in our friend group. She didn’t mind the other guy, but she absolutely loved my now husband which was so weird because she was usually so skittish around men.

Aaay the Halloweentown series was my shit (only 90s kids remember 😆) Maggie Cromwell was badass. Yes!! The Sinister Sisters are a great example. The post was not a bash on Pansy but more so on JKRowling’s statement on witches and wizards don’t care for skin color only magical poweress. I’ve never hated Pansy, I was mostly curious about why is she like this?

Re-reading HP it feels like all of Pansy’s energy is put into being a bully. Spouting cruel things for no reason. Nothing else. And it’s easy to call a character written like Pansy a bitch. It the easiest insult and the worse. At this point its tiring (giving the longest eye-roll) seeing teenage girls written like that.

A while back, I don’t how long but there’s a fic I read and bookmarked. Ugly: In Defense of Pansy Parkinson by dirgewithoutmusic.

The quote “Because I’m not fifteen anymore,” said Pansy. “God, do you know what precious Potter Sr. got up to at school, the bully? But boys get to grow up to be men, you see, and us girls just grow up to be bitches.”

DARK MATTER MANIPULATION: Mutants with this power have the ability to manipulate dark matter. While not much is known about dark matter, those who possess this ability are often studied in order for scientists to discover more about it. From what is known, mutants can use dark matter to manipulate gravity and also project dark matter as an attack in forms such as beams or bursts. Mutants have also been found to have weak form manipulation powers associated with this. 

AESTHETIC

They are the cool hand on a forehead, checking for a fever, the condensation that sweats down the sides of a glass on a hot day, and the feeling of being surrounded by nothingless when you enter a warm bath. The desire that burned in the back on one’s mind saying that they can always do better, be better than what they are. They are the cool sand that buries you under the beach before you even realize what’s happening. The dark side of the moon, the cold and unknown creeping in on you when you least expect it.

PENELOPE O’BRIEN, Twin: Penelope is the only person that Avery truly cares for. Their whole world has been about protecting the other - from their parents, other mutants, the world - and Avery will die protecting them. With the influx of people into the city, they know things have changed and they’ll do what it takes to protect their twin whoever decides to hurt them; even if that means trying to control their power. 

REN ITO, Toy: Oh, how Avery wishes Ren would say more than two words to them. They can see fear in their eyes whenever Ren dares to look at them for more than a few seconds. It’s a game of cat and mouse that Avery looks forward to whenever the two of them run into each other. Maybe one of these days Ren will find the courage to bite back, and Avery will exploit that bite for their own entertainment. 

LENOX SYED, Interest: Lenox showed up at the bar one night while they were working and Avery couldn’t get them out of their mind. Each night they appear in the barstool across for them is one spent listening to the tales the other tells, ignoring any customers that so much as dare to interrupt them. Avery isn’t sure who Lenox is or who they’re running from, but they’re fine with not knowing as long as they stay in their life.
