Authors and publishers, who are suing OpenAI, secured access to internal Slack messages and emails discussing the deletion of pirated books.
Last month, AI company Anthropic agreed to a blockbuster $1.5 billion settlement after being caught red-handed training its models on an enormous cache of pirated versions of copyrighted books and other material. Now, a similar lawsuit aimed at ChatGPT maker OpenAI has taken a dramatic turn, raising the possibility of yet another major legal escalation regarding AI-facilitated copyright infringement — and a potentially much bigger payout to rightsholders. Specifically, authors and publishers who filed a lawsuit against the Sam Altman-led firm have secured access to internal Slack messages and emails discussing the mass deletion of a pirated books dataset, Bloomberg reports. A New York district court ordered OpenAI to hand over the communications regarding data deletion last week. According to the publication, the communications could demonstrate willful infringement, potentially leading to enhanced damages of up to $150,000 per work, a massive increase from just $750.

This may seem like a very “well duh” post but i do think it’s important to be clear that when trump claims he intends to “deport” U.S. citizens that that is definitionally not deportation. Deportation specifically refers to the civil process of removal a foreign noncitizen to the country where they hold citizenship. Deportation is also, in most cases, a legal punishment in itself and will not result in the deportee being jailed upon arrival to their country of citizenship. Removing US citizens from the US and placing them in jails in countries that they have no citizenship claim to is commonly referred to as “disappearing,” “kidnapping,” or “trafficking” and discussions around trump’s desire to remove US citizens from the country should refer to it as such
For the record, they are already doing this. Non-Salvadorians being "deported" to El Salvador are not being deported. There is no legal precedent for what he's doing, so there's no legal term for it. It is human trafficking and these are concentration camps.
"72 hours were it not for some regulatory hold ups" I hope this makes it crystal fucking clear to everyone. This is a metal box shitily put together with 0 regard to the people that will be forced inside it. It took them 8 days WITH regulations, and what you see is 1500 bunk beds put into a metal cage within a bigger metal cage. It's optimised to take away people's comfort and privacy.
And if they didn't have regulations it would have been worse.
Building this in 8 days isn't impressive. It's a disgusting testament to the lengths of cruelty people will go to just to lock up and torture and harm anyone who isn't white.
Make noise about this. Never stop making noise until everyone can live safely. This is disgusting.

my mom purposely overpaid her credit card bill by 1 cent so every month they send her a letter that says they owe her 1 cent and it costs them a dollar to send the letter plus the paper. she is costing corporations money 👍
Yes, but the added environmental cost of mailing a paper letter...
do you think they cut down a whole tree because my mom overpaid one cent. do you think they make one new piece of paper every time they need one
But trucks have to move that paper!
are you not aware that those trucks would be going either way. they aren’t taking another trip for one envelope
hello my name is billy postman, operator of the world's smallest and most environmentally harmful mail truck. it is one envelope big and requires thirty seven gallons of fuel to go one mile. (I personally am about one and a half envelopes big) my beloved truck is very slow and very loud and I hate both flora and fauna so so so much. I love corporations though

tbh as much as i do think it is worthwhile to discuss the topic of shipping aromantic/asexual characters and the nuances of it all (as well as the general attitude allos have towards aspecs in fandom spaces). it also makes me sigh equally because like... what characters. i'll be real guys we don't even have characters to discourse over. literally there are like 3 ever and none of those have fandoms anyway and the ones which do are like 'it was confirmed on twitter in a nebulously worded post by the creator'. its so bad out here
it is absolutely so absurd how shipping culture has made people feel like every single aroace character must be romance and sex favorable and its a normal thing to insist to real aspec people that its not disrespectful to mass headcanon every aspec character as favorable. yes yes youre very woke for knowing that aros can date and aces can have sex but maybe its not cool that you cant handle a character that doesnt want those things and should be understood in a way that isnt via a pairing
Happy Ace Week!
Formerly known as asexual awareness week, the goal of the week is to raise awareness and expanding education of asexuality

You use "arospec people can still date and feel romantic attraction " as an excuse to ship cannon aro characters , I use it as justification to headcannon characters who canonically feel romantic attraction as arospec , we are not the same
