Sims Marketplace
Whatever that new marketplace sims store is.. no thank you. There will be no participation from me, or buying anything from it. Sorry to the creators who chose to participate.. but those creators participating should've just stuck to their Patreons..
EA / The Sims should take insight from their actual base.. no one wants it. No one wants to spend their money for that.. let alone everything going on in the world currently.. no one has extra funds to be spending on the store that often. Nor should they. Enough money has been put into the game (EPS, SP, Kits, etc) there's enough that's been spent.. that "marketplace" content should be free at this point. It's now become gluttony, greed.
Also to add, ANY and ALL content I post and put on here, SFS, or Patreon will ALWAYS be free. That's something I firmly believe in. Access for all.
It's so funny they chose the Cowplant as the mascot for The Sims Marketplace, a plant that literally lures you with cake and then fucking eats you raw 😭
Discord, your "inclusive experience" excuse for id/face verification is absolutely lame. Why don’t you just make a family-friendly clone of your app, 100% pure safe space for kids and ban all NSFW content there?!
STOP TRYING TO PUT A TOY STORE AND A STRIP CLUB UNDER THE SAME ROOF 🙄
Age verification for all.
Even so, there’s still a risk that some users will leave Discord as a result of the age verification rollout. “We do expect that there will be some sort of hit there, and we are incorporating that into what our planning looks like,” Badalich says. “We’ll find other ways to bring users back.”

Hi! I have a question do you know if there a way to get vfx trains from San myshuno to work in any lot or world ? Not functional but showing up if you place like train tracks or rabbit hole train station sorry for the bad English
Hi! Well I think there's 2 ways to do it: one is to link an object with a VFX (i.e. a train track obj with added train vfx). I think BakieGaming did a lot of his animated ccs this way, tho I haven't checked the exact details.
Two is by extracting the mesh and make them into a buy mode item which you can place anywhere.
Both are static in place, and while there are some that're animated, they're located pretty far away from the spawn point that idk if it's usable XD you kind of need to do some make believe with the static objs, or figure out how to move the animated ones closer to the obj it's spawning from.
Regardless, here's a tutorial for the 2nd method since it's how I first interpreted the question haha
How to Extract VFX Meshes w/ VFX Tool
Will be going over how to find their mesh instance id w/ the VFX tool, find it in Sims 4 Studio, extract those meshes & textures, and have them buyable in-game.
Tools needed: Sims 4 Studio, VFX Tool by denton47, and Studio Effect Player mod by andrew (in-game)
All credit to denton47 for the info on how to find the mesh, I'm just relaying the info that I found there :D

Hey Lizbob! I was watching 12x03 and I noticed Dean walking to his car and seeing a motorcycle and saying "nice bike". Any ideas?! Could it be a refrence to our beloved twist and shout?
It was Ketch’s bike, as an ominous warning that he was following them! We didn’t have confirmation on it in that episode, but in 12x04 he drives past the car on the road and stops to examine it, and then shows up at the very end to kill Magda, still on it, before we see him driving it a few times in the presence of the Winchesters
(I’m so sorry I’m just using my own gifs so uh)
There was a fair amount of spec immediately between 12x03 and 12x04 wondering what the bike was, and quite a few people landed on wondering if it was going to turn out to be the mysterious Mr Ketch’s, based entirely on the deconstruction of masculinity and black and white views of hunting offered to us in 12x01 and 12x02 when introducing him as the avatar of all that. You could say that it was long foretold from the moment Ketch showed up as just a tattoo and a black and white view on monsters that he was fated to meet and be killed by Dean in the ways in which he did because when it comes to the symbolic and metaphoric and emotional subplots this season was pretty much by the numbers what you would expect. Ketch showed up representing exactly the sort of thing Dean struggled with, was used as a way to pile that all onto Mary, and accordingly twined their emotional arcs on this subject around him, before Mary and Dean were the ones intimately connected in his death.
I particularly liked the reason I ended up giffing Dean commenting on the bike, which was where 12x18 took us -
that of course being Dean talking and showing how he’s slagging off Ketch’s bike now he’s got to know the man and discovered there’s no worth in him and his presented image at all. In 12x14 Ketch attempted to win Dean over with scotch and a blowing off steam vampire hunt, and failed to dent Dean’s interest, instead betraying his own hand as cruel and vicious when Dean by this point has learned to listen to frightened and scared vampires - this whole arc goes back to 2x03 for Dean (or maybe 1x15 which was the first one using a killer family contrasted against their own to consider human nature and killing, although not associated to them in the same way 2x03 showed the danger of not being compassionate towards the things they killed).
Dean’s relationship to Ketch’s bike is a mirror of a mirror relationship - Ketch himself being a stand in, when you follow the character mirrors back to the source, all the way to John Winchester. (The 2x03 link being the furthest away but also most obvious because being the first to riff off of this theme properly, Sam just straight up says Dean’s replacing John with Gordon before at the end of the episode Dean ruminates on how they were brought up and how realising the monsters aren’t always evil has jacked up his entire worldview on their job.)
I think although I was grumpily trying to pretend it wouldn’t happen until it did, that Mary sleeping with Ketch was fairly inevitable too - Ketch ran a double seduction ploy and it failed on Dean and worked on Mary as she had far less experience or doubt (having been raised a hunter by Samuel and taken no character development on screen to be compassionate to monsters, albeit sympathetic to ghosts with sad backstories but they’re the most human sort of monster they encounter so substantially different, metaphorically, from vampires, which like Mark of Cain Dean, she was killing easily to have something to do with herself, even before the BMoL came a calling, like we saw in 12x09)…
But yeah in 12x14 the motorbike was, I think, part of the seduction, although I can’t recall Dean saying anything about it, Robbie kept up a fairly relentless teasing about Dean and motorbikes while he was around and in 9x04 Dean threatens to take Dorothy’s motorbike for a spin sometimes, so we know he has a thing for them… Never mind what Jensen used to say about the horrible dream about Dean handing over the keys of the Imapala for a motorbike to strike out as a solo hunter… I think Ketch in some ways represented that endgame too, at least, the show would be aware in the fringes of Information About The Show, that idea existed out there. Ketch as a solo hunter on a bike with this horrible world view and metaphorical weight of being *everything* bad about being a hunter the show has ever put together, sort of *starting* with “mindless and obedient as an attack dog” represented a whole lot of things weighing on the happiness of the characters.
At least as a metaphoric purging, killing him does a fair amount of work. Snide comments about his bike showing a change in opinion when confronted with its rider from the impressed unguarded compliment, also shows Dean’s ideas being challenged not to just go and like a thing because it fits his masculine definition of ‘cool’ and being ideal to emulate.
(I hope this doesn’t come across as saying he should be punished for liking things… the narrative has a two-pronged attack of rewarding him when he likes the right things and punishing him when he likes the wrong things. I mean, on the other hand, “sleeps with your mom and tries to kill you” is pretty extreme but… yeah. Where am I going with this :P)
…
I suppose I’m ending up with saying I’ve never read Twist and Shout, so I don’t get that reference, and I think that the bike played a large metaphoric role in the season, meaning I see a lot of purpose for it being there rather than a one-off comment and shout out of some sort. I mean, Dean commenting on it meant we were supposed to notice it and wonder about it, and it immediately produced meta ideas (i think @drsilverfish was one of the fastest on the ball about it… maybe @postmodernmulticoloredcloak too?) which held up for the entire season.
The writers aren’t really supposed to read fan fic to get influenced by it for reasons of getting sued themselves BY the fans, and I think T&S got taken down to be published? So that’s even worse. If it was a smaller thing like a diner menu or something which the crew might have sneaked in (and I think some of the set etc people DO get more engaged with fandom because they’re less involved at a higher level of plot and writing importance), I might have wondered, but this is a moment that was obviously scripted and included for foreshadowing the longer arc about Ketch, so it’s too huge to have just kind of ~happened~ at the time, so I doubt this has any connection, even if this turns out to be a direct quote from the fic or something.
I can’t find what I was looking for but I’ve found this https://postmodernmulticoloredcloak.tumblr.com/post/152479669237/i-cant-stop-thinking-about-the-bike-and-dean and there’s stuff here https://postmodernmulticoloredcloak.tumblr.com/search/nice-bike.
I am pretty sure I’ve written more about the topic, but maybe it just never left my mind, who knows
I just know it wasn’t a reference to Twist & Shout, because it makes sense in the picture of the in-show meanings? not that I have ever read that fic, no one ain’t making me :p
I, strangely, had a similar anon (sans the T&S reference) like three weeks ago, and went hunting back for meta on it:

Sam.
You gonna look at more anime, or are you strictly into Dick now?
“What, are you gonna look up more anime, or are you strictly into Dick now?”
A lengthy exploration of Dean Winchester as a consistently queer character, thank to themes he embodies with his core characterisation of occupying both sides of binary traits.
(aka the reason why I lazily shove random things into my “Dean vs cake” tag with no explanation, written out while on a 8hr train journey)
The writing of Dean is of a character split between endless examples of duality, moments of characterisation which have stark opposites (either generally accepted or made up into a false dichotomy by the show) where he appears to embody elements of both at all times. Generally, the less-expected or pleasant part is something he resists admitting liking or labelling himself as.
He may be described as a killer while being shown to be the most compassionate character by his actions in the same episode; his projection of himself as a dumb grunt has been so successful that we have to scrape up lists of dozens of examples to prove his intelligence in arguments, despite one of the most-used examples being in only the fourth episode but is cited all the time to prove he’s not the stupid brother in contrast to Sam’s college-educated introduction leaving a lasting impression there; a lesser example of Dean wobbling between sides of a duality includes his strict favouritism of pie being shown in stark contrast to cake as if he must surely hate it, having declared himself for pie; and of course his frequently shown interest in women is contrasted with extremely consistent queer subtext implying that Dean is attracted to men as well.

Sammy’s Highway Cafe
This scene is too odd. People in the background look/dress like people they know or have known:
The guy behind Cole looks like Gadreel. The man, in the distance and walking away with a woman, looks like Cas. The woman walking past the sign looks like Jess. The girl near the counter looks a bit like a girl from Fan Fiction. Another Cas look alike is at the counter.
The bar name paired with the Changing Channels scenes in the intro makes me think we’re supposed to think of Sampala. Especially given that in Knight Rider, the car was called K.I.T.T. and the boys are hunting Kit.
Further, Castiel’s Carpet is in the cabin and Cole called Sam “Sammy” and Dean “Deano”.
Gabriel lives…
I find it funny that Sam starts the show with mostly monster love interests (Ruby, Madison, Amy) and ends it with human love interests (Amelia, Eileen). Meanwhile, Dean starts with human girlfriends (Cassie, Lisa) and ends with monster boyfriends (Benny, Crowley, Cas).
if you're a game maker who has been impacted by what happened with itch (and steam) may i suggest looking into doing stuff with jastusa.
they have reached out to itch creators affected by the ban and they allow queer and nsfw media (including completely uncensored porn games everybody say "yippee").
they're mostly a visual novel site but they're reaching out to all types of different game developers and encouraging many different games on their site.
from what i've found, if you'd like to publish through them you can email [email protected] for details on how to go about doing that. i don't know all of the logistics unfortunately as i've never published a game but i do play many and they definitely have a lot of great games on their site.
please do not give up on making games that you love to make just because the bigger sites decided to censor you.
i'm not really here to defend itch.io, because i think they've handled the situation... not as well as they could have, but this is NOT their fault. the blame is entirely on the payment processors that, in essence, held a gun to itch.io's head, and Collective Shout in very specific
this whole thing is fucked up, but putting the blame squarely on itch.io is missing the entire context. they're not the ones you should be mad at
Is it only itch.io's fault? No. Is it entirely Collective Shout's or Visa/Mastercard's fault? Also no.
It's everyone's fault. But that doesn't mean itch.io is innocent, and here's why.
What's wrong with itch.io:
They denied payouts without warning, robbing creators of money they already earned. And no refunds to buyers either. Like, hello? Where did the money go?
They changed the rules overnight, freezing the money that didn't even belong to them in the first place. Couldn't they handle it in a civil way? Explain the situation, pay out the creators, refund users who ask, give it a week before pulling drastic moves. 3 days at least?
They had to act urgently? Well, excuse me, I'm not buying it. There should’ve been some sort of negotiation, some attempt to defend the rights and interests of the community in front of the payment processors. And if this was the best they could manage… were they even trying? They had good intentions but was forced to act differently?
Just to be fair:
Payment processors basically shot themselves in the knee after falling for a blackmail-style pressure campaign from a small but loud group of people. They probably have their own interest in censorship too, which actually shouldn't be their damn concern. And now everyone else has to jump through hoops with petitions and phone calls just to undo the damage? What is it now, whoever screams "think of the children!" louder wins?
Collective Shout blew up the entire situation over the one game - No Mercy. Honestly, I haven’t looked deep into their history, but from what I've seen so far, I assume they would attack everything they don’t personally like, and impose their opinion. They want to dictate what you play, what you watch, what you think, probably even how you fuck and when you breathe. This isn’t activism, it’s ideological authoritarianism as they don’t want a world with dialogue or diversity of thought. They want a world where they dictate what’s acceptable.
And I hate to say it, but… Steam and itch.io let this happen too!
Don't they have any sort of review process before publishing the games on their marketplaces? Obviously, they had a very weak legal position in this particular case and couldn't even defend the game, because of the kind of content it had. It became an easy target, and now, they've thrown all NSFW creators under the bus.
One more thing, that particular game, No Mercy, wasn't an exception. I've played some games on itch.io, and I've seen non con and other content that could easily get them cancelled too if anyone looked closely enough. But those games were listed, people were buying them, everyone seemed to be okay with it. Steam/itch.io operated in a so called grey zone and let it stay that way for years.
Then No Mercy came out, heavily focused on non-con and incest, and ofc it was such an easy target. So if you want to know my opinion, that game shouldn't have been released on Steam/itch.io in the first place. But not because of the censorship thing, censorship is ugly. Because it doesn't suit these platforms guidelines and could easily jeopardize a lot of people, and that exactly what happened.
I honestly believe that we have to be more open-minded and give people freedom of art and freedom of expression. The fact that these games have been around and operated in a grey zone for so long makes it a custom of business turnover imo. That doesn't mean non-con and other games should be everywhere, but they exist and some people have interest in them too, like it or not.
I'll keep this short and sweet for everyone who supports this censorship - back the fuck off from the kinky community and give them a corner of the internet where they can safely explore their kinks. The only non-negotiable boundary? KEEP MINORS OUT OF KINK. ALWAYS. But don't you dare play the "think of the children" card for censorship and ideological control on what turns you off. Your personal discomfort is not a universal moral law.
Now what we needed, and still need, is a more suitable platform that is not afraid to host this kind of content. A place that doesn’t pretend kinky creators don’t exist the second things get tough, and that is ready to defend their interests, who will find a way to fight back the payment processors and pretty much everyone else.
And Steam/itch.io, since they been listed games with some specific topics for years, should have been prepared for various consequences, including pressure from payment processors, and handle them fairly. But instead, they cowardly removed games and ripped off community and creators. So yeah, IT IS THEIR FAULT. The wrong things done by payment processors and collective shout shouldn't diminish their own fault.
I love how itch.io isn't giving refunds for affected games but also isn't paying out to their creators. Out here pocketing a shit ton of money over a policy they implemented without notice or warning & which didn't exist to be violated when those games were uploaded & purchased.
EXACTLY! Fucking convenient, isn’t it?
And don’t even get me started on where this whole mess began. All this outrage over one damn game? Then WHY ON EARTH was it even allowed on those platforms in the first place??? They let it sit there, let people buy it, and now everyone else is paying the price? Absolute bullshit.
And how many damn phone calls or petitions do fellow gooners need to make just to get their content (or even darker stuff) approved again? Is that really how this works now?

Honestly, I’m seriously looking into what the hell is going on with itch.io right now, because what’s happening is beyond fucked up.
And then they have the audacity to drop this line:
This is a time critical moment for itch.io. The situation developed rapidly, and we had to act urgently to protect the platform’s core payment infrastructure
What gets me the most is that you’re not just deleting games. YOU'RE REFUSING TO PAY CREATORS WHAT THEY ALREADY EARNED, because YOU changed the rules OVERNIGHT and decided their work was suddenly unacceptable.
You fucking robbed your own creators. Some of whom depended on that income to survive. You pulled the rug under their feet and called it urgent action? Get real, bitch. I hope creators and the community walk the fuck away to better alternatives and never look back. You don’t deserve their loyalty. You don’t deserve their art. And you sure as hell don’t deserve their silence.
Not only did Itch.io delete all the nsfw games on their platform it is now denying payouts for these games under the guise of “violation of tos”
(Via daff.space on bsky)
One user has suggested to set revenue sharing to 0% to prevent Itch.io from gaining any revenue from these games or other games in the future as a form of protest.
While this may not prevent itch.io from the money they’ve already gained it will prevent them from further gaining revenue on future games purchased from them.
At this point in time it does not matter if Itch.io was pressured into this decision or not. What does matter is they blindly pulled the rug from under many indie game devs, cutting them off from a source of income and continuing to hoard the income that is due to them.
No official statement or any semblance of guilt or sorrow, just a salute emoji and a back turned onto the community that built the website.
This isn’t just “a change of policy”, it’s pulling the rug out from under devs and artists, who pay rent, buy food, and SURVIVE off this income. And you drop this bullshit out of nowhere with zero warning? That’s not just unfair. it’s INHUMANE!
