Friends!!! What kind of visual novel games do you want to play?

Great news: I just talked with my mentor, and they said I can make a visual novel / interactive game for my graduation project! 🎉

(I won’t explain the process of my quarrels and arguments now, lmaoo)

Current production plan:

A 1-minute promotional video

A playable game build (approx. 10,000–30,000 words of story content)

Since this will also be exhibited, the visual/art direction will be quite elaborate — lots of polish and detail. What I really want to ask is: what do you guys want to see?

Feel free to order whatever you'd like! I asked my mentor, and they said a little bit of "personal taste" is fine — but nothing too explicit / NSFW.

I'm a solo developer — I do all the art, design, and programming myself, so I'm very stable and reliable. Unlike others in my department who work in pairs, I'll handle the entire project alone. No worries about me dropping the project!

Story tropes or plotlines you enjoy

Inspirations or ideas you have

Or even just silly collaborative mini-storychains!

Galgame / GL / BG — all are fine! Romance / weird mind-bending / suspense / comedy sketches — anything goes! I'm omnivorous and open to pretty much anything. The main purpose of this post is to ask: what do YOU want?

After the initial project proposal is approved, I'll start posting development progress updates.

Estimated completion: before March next year.

My mentor also mentioned that if this post (and future ones) get enough engagement, they can screenshot and print them for the exhibition display — as a way to show player feedback and community involvement!
