Dean Winchester is Single with a capital S, or Bachelor with a capital B, depending on who you ask. He likes his style, which is love 'em and leave 'em, but if you catch him at a bad time, he will admit that he misses something more real. And what's more real than a reality show?
When you think about it, reality shows and fanfics have one, very important thing in common: they both want to put that guy in A Situation. And what a situation our Dean finds himself in as he is selected for a very particular reality show!
In this show, Dean will be confronted with a series of his exes, all in hopes of igniting past flames and finding his true love. While Dean does get the chance to reconnect with a few exes, he's still pining over one particular person. But that person would never appear on the show... would he?
This fic feels like a little vacation as you read it--just a low-angst way to relax and watch Dean and Cas reconnect and completely fail to hide their attraction from both the other contestants as well as the cameras. (Seriously. Dean thinks that he's so sneaky, and he is... not.)

as someone who has been involved in union organizing through my dad's union since i was literally in second grade, the way that people on tumblr think unions work drives me literally insane
unions do so much more than just strike. unions bargain. unions sit in at meetings with upper management. unions help people navigate benefits. unions coordinate aid drives for disabled members. my union ran a donations campaign for me for the interim between the end of my allotted paid leave and my disability claim
"unionize your workplace" means so much more than "talk to your coworkers about striking." you gotta actively know what a union is and what a union isn't before you can form one. calls to unionize should lead to more people learning their rights and learning how unions work, and coordinating with orgs like seiu and the teamsters and the aft (and if you don't know what those are, look them up).
My union found me a legal expert to help me check over my last redundancy settlement for free, provided private medical cover whilst I was unemployed, and negotiated a good deal on cheap insurance for their members. It is so much more than strikes.

"You'll be left behind if you don't get onboard with AI!" okay let's assume for a second that AI is The Future or whatever. Let's assume that it will be the cornerstone of all future work. Let's assume that, like the investment guys floating on the surface of the bubble are desperate to have us believe, It Is Inevitable. Frankly I still don't think I'd lose much by ignoring it until that day comes. Like I simply do not believe that prompt engineering could take all that long to learn. Call me naive but I think that if AI became critical for my life tomorrow, somebody telling me how to access chatGPT (I imagine they've got a website or an app or something?) and being like "Remember how you used to use google when it still actually worked? Start there" would be enough. I think I could figure it out in like an hour, tops, by fucking around with the site and maybe looking up some tips on reddit. So like. Even if "AI is the future" did somehow magically turn out to be true, I don't see how that affects me at all right now or why anybody bothers saying so. "AI is the future, if you were smart you'd be using it!" no I wouldn't. It still wouldn't be a skill that's worth my time to learn yet. Pointless addition to the discussion. Maybe I'm dunning-krugered or something but I simply do not think that it would be difficult enough that I would need to start practicing right now or I'm missing out on something.
"You'll need AI in a decade so you should get familiar with it now!" I think if you start getting familiar with it now, and I start getting familiar with it in a decade, we're going to end up at the same proficiency pretty quickly. Doesn't seem like the kind of skill where "X years of experience" is relevant. I don't think that's a skill gap that would be hard to close.
You cannot simultaneously have a "it's easy for everyone to learn! Impossible to fuck up!" pitch and a "you MUST learn how to use it RIGHT NOW" pitch for the same product and expect to get taken seriously

Since 2016, this little community has come together to share a staggering 11.6 million words of Destiel fic, and close to a thousand accompanying works of art. It’s truly a joy to see what everyone creates every year, and we can’t wait for this next round to begin!
Registration will remain open from now until October 25th for authors, with fic drafts & claims information due by November 29th.
Artists may continue to sign up until November 29th, and will have several days to peruse all available fics ahead of anonymous claims on December 6th.
After claims, author/artist teams will have roughly three months to complete their fics and artwork before posting commences on pi(e) day – March 14, 2027!

Anyway, homie is, like all wealthy white dudes, egregiously imperfect, but he’s definitely fucking trying. So in that regard, he’s valuable because he’s reaching audiences that you personally probably wouldn’t be able to reach, and if you find he has specific stuff on topics you need to persuade people on, he’s a valuable avenue.
sometimes i am like. writers / creator's love for an actor makes for stupid narrative choices. like for instance bucklemming's boner for lucifer. he did Not need to be brought back so many times my GOD. but also, meg as the empty in s15. LIKE. i get it they love rachel miner and wanted to incorporate her into the final season. but i just think. if anyone should've been sitting on a throne taunting cas and being a smug lil shit, it should've been the empty as crowley. and i stand by that forever.

It’s Romancing the Vote season, the increidble team that inspired our craft fairs!! This year, they’re fundraising for Vote Riders and The Southern Coalition for Social Justice, two organizations experienced in fighting to make sure every person's vote counts. Check out the whole auction here!!
I have two things in the auction to help raise money for their awesome causes:
1. A signed copy of Errant, the novella series that @feliciadavin and KR Collins and I wrote together! Featuring a tasty F/F romance, fun fantasy worldbuilding, a magic system that is DELICIOUS, and a stoic bi swordswoman/charming lesbian thief… and a map!
2. A progress pride mail sticker that i designed! holographic and cute as hell!!!
These folks have raised over a million dollars for voting rights over the last six years - hype and bid and buy and support their work!!
anyways. my final thoughts on the ai thing is that if you've used ai for fanfic writing, you can just stop. if youre genuinely just someone who's using it as a tool bc youve gotten used to it, its not too late to stop. I guarantee you that your writing will be better and all AI is teaching you is now how to write like AI. u need to learn how to write like u. and if you look, you Can find people in fandom to help you. theres someone who can help you proofread your fic, or tinker with your sentences. someone to help you with code. someone to help u find the answers to all your hockey questions. and itll be more fun this way
This has been my main argument against "AI" from the very beginning.
OpenAI scraped the entire web. All of which had been a labor of love from humans. Wikipedia is the backbone of a lot of LLMs, and that was volunteer human labor. They stole it and now they're selling it back to us.
And worse, they're trying to destroy the free sources that they stole from. It's destruction of human knowledge on an unprecedented scale. The burning of the library of Alexandria has nothing on this.
