Some things about this post since getting quite a few notes:

1. If you see this post, highly recommend taking it as an opportunity to set a timer for 15 minutes and switch over to ACTIVITY YOU ENJOY. if after those 15 minutes, you want to go back to scrolling, that's okay!

2. Huge shout out to this popping up in my notifs often, bc I do go back to activity.

3. I think there are times where scrolling is fine. Right now, for example, I'm being connected to a machine for two hours to donate plasma and platelets. Yes this is a brag but it is also a time where scrolling is one of the few things I can do. (Though I will probably also read or watch something on phone lol)

I think one of the gentlest things in the world is when a friend just gets your weird little brain. like you say half a sentence and they finish it. you reference something incredibly niche from seven years ago and they’re already nodding. they understand your strange vocabulary for emotions that don’t have real words yet. it’s being seen and known and still loved. maybe especially because you’re known. god. what a gift.

I did not work at an open intake shelter. I worked at a very well funded limited-intake shelter.

But i am a huge supporter of open intake shelters and their staff. They do extremely vital and often heartbreaking work while getting shit on by lots of people. I will defend them and what they do to my dog breath.

I don't know often animals have to be euthanized for space. It's going to vary based on time of year, shelter size, funding, foster programs, etc.

The numbers of frenchies and doodles entering the shelters is definitely starting to increase, so all these indiscriminate breeders going for the next greatest trend are actively contributing to that happening though.

I finally get to share some Six of Crows art I did last year for @insighteditions! Here’s Kaz Brekker as he appears in A Darker Shore: Letters from Ketterdam, the new Grishaverse short story told through found documents and set in the years after Crooked Kingdom. Merchants of Ketterdam have been under attack. Ships sunk. Slavers hunted as they once hunted their victims. All the work of a mysterious sea captain and her ship, the Wraith. As the lead investigator tries to piece together the truth behind the latest massacre, he makes sketches in his journal, which are actually my sketches! 😄 I’m not sure how many I’ll be allowed to post, but this one of Kaz might be my favourite. I drew him with a hat first, but Leigh said he’d be hotter without it and she was quite right. 😂
