For all you Trollhunters fans ^^ Our companions journey to meet Atlas who turns out to be…… Jim’s dad ^^ A huge thanks goes out to @tyler.thi.7 for this suggestionヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ﾉ I LOVED creating a story around this hypothesis. I can’t tell you how much fun I had drawing this and I’m so happy with how Douxie turned out especially ♡ As always, if you’re interested to join the ToARiseChallenge, let me know what hypothesis you have for the movie and I’ll draw images for as many as I can. Some explorations of what Jim was like at 7 (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡
a scenario:
Shortly after settling in at the New Jersey heartstone, Jim tries cooking a traditional trollish dish for the first time (there wasn’t really the time or resources for proper cooking on the road). He feels rather awkward and unsure of himself because the ingredients and combinations were new and foreign to him, and as such he is definitely not as comfortable using them as he had been with the familiar human recipes he’d made so many times before.
He taste-tests the final dish and thinks it’s pretty good, but he’s not sure if it’s actually “good” or if he just doesn’t have a broad enough experience with trollish foods to properly judge and it’s actually just mediocre and he simply doesn’t know any better.
So he is nervous when he passes a serving to Blinky, who has of course had centuries’ worth of troll cuisine and has probably experienced dishes of a wide range of quality. As it turns out, however, Blinky adores Jim’s dish and is sure to say so loudly, praising him for his skills and general knowledgeability to be able to pull off an unfamiliar dish so well, and on his very first attempt, no less!
Jim is absolutely beaming for the rest of the day.

Lol Why do so many transphobes keep accidentally creating trans allegories. Like, Butch Hartman is notorious for doing it with the fairly odd parents and Danny phantom, but other people do it too. To name a more timely example, JK Rowling the out and proud terf made an entire series about a large group of people that have to hide their identities and pretend to be something they’re not for fear of being hurt and harassed by people that don’t understand, an experience that many trans people can relate to. Its just funny how this keeps happening.
