So i very quickly sketched it

This is Adira! She's about late 20s early 30s age wise.

I wont go into all the details (cause i dont have them yet) but she basically grew up in a place with a lot of crime and her family (mum, dad, younger sister) ended up being murdered when she was 15ish (maybe older). She then killed the murderer and ran away. (I plan to add a bit more to this, something along the lines of her knowing the murderer, and they're doing it cause of something stupid she did/said but I haven't actually thought of details for that yet)

so she traveled for ages and self sabotaged any friendship or relationship she made

then she found the place the show was gonna be set (I wanna make this into a cartoon) when she was in her early twenties and she continued to be a bitch and self sabotage any relationship she made but this time with a stable house and a job teaching people self defense

then when she was like 27ish she met a 9 year old girl called Eliene (the main character) who annoyed her into teaching her how to sword fight (she saw Adira doing it and thought it was cool). Normally Adira would have told her to fuck off but she reminded her of her younger sister.

THEN after about a year Eliene's mum died (terminal illness) and Eliene ended up living with Adira

so now this very inexperienced emotionally closed off traumatized woman with a sword obsession has to deal with a grieving 10 year old who likes cuddles

She's also in this family group drawing

Shizuku is part of this central family of nine fox-people sisters, she's the third born and the kid she adopts is actually one of her younger sisters - seen in the second picture, having a nervous breakdown presumably because Shizuku got mildly injured.

She is a supportive character mostly and therefore the biggest part of her story and character arc happens outside of the context she takes place in. So she's mostly cool girl mentor/parental figure who lives in the suburbs with her partner and sometimes shows up to do some epic badguy fighting.

She's uncle Iroh or Mr.Miyagi with a little more complexity and if you ask her about kids she'll tell you she got 30 and loves them all, because she works as a martial arts instructor (not for swordfight actually).
