I have so much fun with them every time, and lyonel's parents, of course. I keep meaning to reread this one so that I can get back into writing it but wouldn't you know, having three and five year old pet humans at home means that summer break is a little busy lol. VYCanisMajoris's Strong Arms Soften: EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT VYCANISMAJORIS BUT ME APPARENTLY. i was not interested in maekar/dunk aside from murmurs from my dearest friend Mads, but I read their shorter fic Fire in the Reeds first and then dove headfirst into the catalogue. I read Strong Arms Soften on the beach in mostly one go. I laughed, I cried, I hooted excitedly. Can't rec enough.
@silentclaviature's dealbreaker: This is going to come out of left field for a lot of folks, but hear me out: this is non-omegaverse and an endgame dunk/egg that brings the canon Aerion to life in a modern AU, where he's groomed Egg into a relationship that he reveals to his gobsmacked lover, Dunk. The way Dunk & Egg discover what love feels like when it's born of safety as opposed to abuse is a frankly beautiful thing that slapped me so hard I saw stars.
Miralana's follow the sun: Miralana, baekar author supreme, has been writing Aemond/Lucerys. Just like Maekar/Dunk I was not initially compelled by the pairing but Miralana is a master of their craft and I kept coming back to the idea, thinking, surely I could give this a shot! And I did and the romance is top-tier, as always. I love the age old question: is it baby trapping if they're into it?
