That woman has set us back YEARS. YEARS. And whose money is she using to do it? People who continually support her and her sorry excuse for a book series.
If you simply must watch it? Pirate. It’s not hard.
Do not give her money. Do not give her a platform. Do not contribute. Please.

She has stated that she takes any interaction with the Harry Potter franchise as an endorsement of her views.
The only reason the new series exists is because JK threw a hissy fit over Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and I believe Rupert Grint all disavowed her transphobia, so she remade the series.
I stood in line at a theme park recently listening to people behind me opining about how “ungrateful” the original Harry Potter cast was to Joanne and how they hoped the new cast would be “less controversial.” (And then had a loud conversation myself in front of them about how goddamn stupid some people are and how Joanne and anyone who defends her could fight me, and they quieted down.)
But my point is: People DO support her, and people WILL see your interaction with the series and especially the new material as indicative of your support as well. And anyone you know who is trans? Is gonna know they’re not safe with you.
It’s not abstract. It’s not just internet squabbling. It’s real people supporting real legislation that affects real family members. Even if you aren’t lighting the house on fire yourself, you’re letting them have the matches and the gasoline. The least you could do is, you know, not.
