The reason why Alastor and Lucifer's first meeting went so poorly, is because they have, by definition, extremely dominant, territorial cat-like personalities who both consider the Hotel "their" space

And like every well-meaning but ignorant cat owner, Charlie just pushed these two in one place and hoped for the best

Now I'm thinking of a timeline where the Hotel went through the proper cat introduction steps xDD

I am LAUGHING at the idea of Charlie being a responsible Cat Owner (she learned because of KeeKee!) and taking steps when introducing her dad to the hotel and the others!

History wise, it also makes sense that he is skilled at making home cooked meals as things we commonly use nowadays like convenience stores weren’t extremely popular until World War II and expanding into the 1950’s where the birth of coupons began so there WERE general stores but many simply preferred to hunt/forage and living in a bayou offered a wide variety of things from gator meat (and possibly eggs but of course it’s very risky), crayfish, nuts, berries, and even vegetables like shoots for foods like gumbo. And of course fishing.
