Nooooo don't send me a link to the pirated Hamilton film I love capitalism ahah
It would be a total shame if I had to watch free Hamilton...
Yeah, it would be terrible to financially support art created and performed by minorities. It only took Lin-Manuel Miranda 7 years to write Hamilton after all so it’s not like it was a lot of work. (Sarcasm just in case you couldn’t tell)
It’s $7 to have access to Hamilton and a billion other movies and shows for a month. Is that still too high a price???
Somebody make it make sense please.
Are you guys following what's going on in Milwaukee? It's happening right now, June 23/24 depending on where you live!
There are conflicting reports about who set the house and van on fire, some say it was the police to cover up evidence, some that the neighbors did it.
But people managed to recover tons of documents from the house before it burned down and already one of the people mentioned in them was identified as a register sex offender! The house is also allegedly registered to a member of the clergy?
Summary:
I’m so happy to see Sousa again on Agents of Shield. While I love him and Peggy, I feel like I’m the only person watching who actually likes Steggy. I watched Agent Carter and while I liked Sousa and Peggy’s relationship, I was sad that she didn’t end up with Steve.
That being said, if Sousa isn’t currently dating or married to Peggy Carter (like the last episode seems to show) and they end up saving him from dying by taking him with them to the future (like the promos may hint at), then I would be satisfied with Sousa’s ending and not feel like Endgame ruined things for him. I hope Agents of Shield gives him a good ending. Unlike everyone else it seems, I’m not hoping that the show goes against Endgame to have Sousa end up together with Peggy. I want to see how things work out for him when he doesn’t have Peggy.
Either way, I don’t like all the hate Steggy gets because of the decisions Endgame writers created. Captain America and Peggy Carter are two of my favorite characters (tied with Fitz-Simmons) so the fact that I never see any love for them anymore makes me sad.
It’s the How I Met Your Mother Effect. If an ending betrays the viewers and the story badly enough, it actively cancels out the cultural influence of the show. It decreases the rewatch value and diminishes the fondness and relatability of earlier seasons.
Screenwriters take note!
good writing outlives hype
did how i met your mother end that badly?
To begin, the show spent multiple seasons drilling in the point that Robin and Ted are not meant for each other after the first episode gives them a lot of chemistry. They then decide to have Robin and Barry marry each other to further this point.
Next, they didn’t have the mother, the show’s most likeable character and the reason for the title of the show, appear until the very last season where they end up killing her off very quickly.
On top of that, you then find out that Barry and Robin divorce even though they spend like a whole season on their wedding. Why you ask?
So that Robin and Ted can get together in the end of the show even though the show spent a lot of time building up to Tracy, the actual mother, and a lot of time showing why Robin and Ted wouldn’t work.
Basically, the show shouldn’t have been, “How I Met Your Mother.” It should have been called, “I Want To Get With Your Aunt Robin Again, But I Want Your Approval.” After all, the story starts with Ted meeting Robin and ends with them getting together, so it’s clear the story changed from actually being about the mom, and the writers just had to throw the mom in there for some episodes because of the title they wrote.

Women in Mexico disappear.
Today is a historic day in my country, we’re fed up with gender violence in Mexico. They’re killing us. Picture this, you can’t walk outside your own house because you fear the worst, you fear that your clothes are too revealing, you fear that you’re too alone, you fear that you’re walking the wrong streets. Day after day you wake up to the news of another feminicide. They’re killing us. You see it, you hear it, you fear it. What if I’m the next one? You’re always wondering. They’re killing us.
10 women are killed every day, only because they’re women. And it doesn’t matter where we are, what we’re wearing, who we are. It’s not our fault, because they keep killing us.
If we keep up at this rate? What’ll be of us?
Yesterday we marched.
(None of the pictures are mine)
“I march because I’m alive and I don’t know until when.”
“Today, all our voices aren’t together because, from death, one can’t scream.”
“We’re not hysteric, we’re historic.”
“Mom, if you don’t find me, look up for me in the stars.”
Yesterday we screamed. We flourished.
“Mom, don’t worry, today I’m not alone in the streets.”
Our monuments bled to represent us.
We screamed.
But not today, today march 9th 2020. We silenced ourselves.
Today, we disappeared. No social networks, not a single woman in the streets, not a single woman working, not a single woman studying, not a single woman at any store.
What would Mexico be without us? If you don’t want us in the streets, fine we’ll disappear.
Without us, you’ll collapse.
Mexico woke up with no women ticket-sellers in the subway stations, no women tellers at the bank.
No women’s column on the newspapers.
No women at their jobs.
No women at school.
No women on the streets.
Mexico woke up with no women.
We can’t accept what we can’t change, but we will change what we can’t accept.
We are angry, and we will rise. Because without us, you’re nothing.
This reminds me of the Women in Iceland, I think Iceland, who went on strike and did no work for their professions or their houses. The entire country stopped for the day.
It’s a very powerful strategy to take.

Gale’s Advice: on Ignorance
Ignorance should never be mistaken for Malice.
Ignorant individuals can learn and are willing if patience and understanding are given. If reason and acceptance are given, ignorance can fade. A caring and thoughtful person is born.
Malicious individuals can learn but refuse to. They have accepted their intentions and refuse to change course.
Ignorant people can become Malicious if other people brand them as such. Ignorance met with Dismissal will become Malice.
That is the danger of painting with a broad brush. If everyone that disagrees with your idea is considered evil then eventually they will become such.
That is why debate is important. Always question people’s views. If they have reasons for believing such without hesitation, then you can tell their intentions. If you see them struggle to answer, if you can see doubt, then they can be saved.
When you demonize, you make more enemies, hate can only breed more hate. Then you become ignorant and when you refuse to see the views of others that is when you become malicious to others. Even with good intentions, you can become harmful to what you see as good.
That’s how she looked
I adore her. She poisoned their soup (she was working in the cantine and was forced to serve the occupying nazis) and ATE the same soup to proove her innocence. Then she rushed home to her grandma who gave her a whole jar of milk to drink and throw up.
lmao she shot the interrogator with his own gun. and she was a member of a resistance movement named Young Avengers.
she was 17. teenage girls are so fucking hardcore
I want to be this hardcore.

reblog this to have a Happy Wildcat New Year™
not enough people reblogged this last year we gotta really try this time to have a Happy Wildcat New Year™
first off this video is hilarious, and second: it's canon now that the Mandalorian would listen to Africa by Toto
@butchniqabi
“Beauty Tahani wants to battle!”
“Trainer Chidi wants to battle! …Maybe? Actually, hold on, he isn’t totally sure yet. Trainer Chidi is debating the ethical implications of Pokémon battles with himself. It’s… taking a while. Maybe you should just go.
Trainer Chidi… has a stomach ache.”
“Holy shirtballs! Trainer Eleanor wants to battle!”
“Oh, dip! Trainer Jason wants to battle! “
“Trainer Janet wants to battle, and she can absolutely assure you that she does not have a Maractus!”
“Elite Four Michael wants to battle! (He’ll meet you in the dot of the “i”)”
If you think like that, please don’t ever have children.
Listen, my parents installed a lock on my door so I could lock everyone out of my room if I wanted to at sometime around 8 years old. They had a key of course for safety but they’ve never had to use it and they’ve never used it when they didn’t have to.
I was allowed full access to any books, movies, and internet I wanted fully informed about our family beliefs and practices but I was given no supervision once I reached about 13 because my parents trusted me to stick to the rules or not as I felt and come to them if there was anything that I had questions about.
As long as I said where I was going, who I was with, and when I was going to be back and then phone if anything changed I was allowed to do pretty much as I pleased from 13 onward.
I moved back in with my parents after university and the first conversation we had was my dad telling me that if I felt like they were treating me like a child to please tell them because they had no intention of doing so.
I still live with them and I’m comfortable here as an adult. When I eventually move out again, which I feel no rush to do because I feel respected and given more than enough elbow room, I will probably talk to them often if not everyday. Because they’ve always respected my privacy and my autonomy both physically and emotionally. If you want an independent and fictional child trusting them and giving them their space will do you many more favours than not.
meanwhile, my parents…
password protected my computer so i had to get permission every time i wanted to use it
put a passcode lock on our pantry so we couldn’t eat without permission
regularly checked our internet browsing history
shut off the internet at regular intervals, including when i needed it for university homework
did monthly checks of our bank statements and would confiscate money if they didn’t approve of our activities
in response, i went behind their backs and opened a new bank account, got a secret job, bought my own groceries, and used the wifi from the school across the street. they didn’t succeed in disciplining me. all they did was force me to distance myself from them.
your children are not your property. they are human beings, and they deserve basic human rights.
when will parents realize that if they treat their children like something that can’t be trusted, their children won’t trust them?
Btw, in case you’re late

Once upon a time I worked in this little burger/coffee/ice cream shop and a lady came in one winter and asked if we had a caramel apple drink and we were like ‘well we have cider’ and she was like ‘no I don’t remember what it’s called but this place made a drink that was chai tea, apple cider, and caramel’ and Breezy offered to try and make something for her but she changed her mind and left so Breezy and I were like ‘alright let’s try this’ because we had chai tea, instant cider mix, a shit ton of caramel, instant hot water from the espresso and too much free time.
And let me tell you it was delightful. It tastes like watching the leaves changing color and dancing in the wind. It tastes like picking out pumpkins and gourds and fresh apples at the farm up north. It tastes like witches and freedom.
I make it every year now and this year I walked in the house on the morning of October first with all the ingredients and shouted ‘FALL DRINK’ and my roommates were like ‘????’ so I made them Fall Drink and now every time they get home from work they’re like ‘Fall Drink pls?????’
Anyway I remember literally nothing else about that woman but I’m very grateful to her.
for anyone wondering about proportions/etc here’s op’s answer from the repiles:
