Blue-and-Pink Drinks, Ralsei, Kris, and Transness
I can't think of a super eloquent way to kick-start this post, so I'll begin by pointing to this post by f00faraw. I'm firmly in the camp of believing that the blue-and-pink drink from Deltarune: Chapter 5 represents transness, but I used to resist the idea that it was about Kris. I've since come to the conclusion that it actually is, but not in the way many people seem to think.
For starters, the drink voucher scene is absolutely about Ralsei's gender. Though I don't think that the drink is really the linchpin of that reading, it's certainly relevant to the scene as a whole. Though blue and pink are two of the colors of the trans flag (with Ralsei's white fur incidentally completing the color scheme), they also feature prominently on Kris's Dark-World sprite, leading some to interpret the drink as representing them. Some go as far as to say that the colors can't be about transness for that reason. In any case, I don't believe that the drink is blue and pink simply because it represents Ralsei's affection for Kris. Considering that that fact is already well-established about them and Flowery tells them to pick their favorite without "worry[ing] about Kris," it would be odd for the drink to simply be about how much Ralsei likes them. That doesn't mean that Kris isn't important, however.
The blue-and-pink drink is specifically juxtaposed against a green-and-yellow one, which f00faraw points to being Kris's Dark- and Light-World colors, respectively. Broadly speaking, the Dark Worlds provide Kris (and Susie) with new avenues of autonomy and self-expression not awarded to them in the Light World. Kris's drab Light-World presentation contrasts starkly with the wide variety of colorful outfits they wear in the Dark World (especially during ACTs). This is dwelt upon more explicitly in their room in Castle Town, where inspecting their wardrobe prompts the player with the text, "You could wear anything you want." Kris's lackluster Light-World presentation is for several reasons. For one, it ties them to their older brother Asriel, in whose looming shadow they find themselves perpetually standing. Given that Toriel is implied to be struggling financially, it also seems likely that she simply cannot afford to buy Kris new clothes, hence the hand-me-downs. And of course, we cannot forget that Kris is a trans character, for whom clothing is extremely important; their stifled gender presentation is an important part of their Light-World struggles.
Thus, blue and pink come to represent (Kris's) freedom of expression within the Dark World, while green and yellow represent the Light World and its restrictions. What this means for Ralsei is that the blue-and-pink drink ultimately represents freedom of expression and autonomy, two things she and the world at large deny her. Given that Kris is a trans character (and in order to fully appreciate their nuances as a character, one must take that into account), their self expression becoming linked to Ralsei's carries obvious trans subtext.
The question of whether the blue and pink of the drink also represent transness would seem to boil down to whether or not Kris's Dark-World color palette represents the same. This is, of course, impossible to answer definitively, but the colors of the trans flag are a recurring motif in Deltarune's visual design. The two most prominent examples are arguably Noelle's room (which many have taken to suggest that Noelle is trans or will transition, but that's another discussion) and the first three ribbon items (white, pink, and blue). Indeed, Ralsei's association with the latter is often used to support a transfem reading of her character, but the ribbons are also equippable by and therefore symbolically linked to Kris. Furthermore, the first ribbon found in Chapter 1 is the White Ribbon, which completes the trans color palette for Kris's Dark World appearance. Given everything discussed above, I find it highly plausible (if not downright probable) that Kris's Dark-World color scheme is a reference to the colors of the trans flag.
Going back to Ralsei and the drink voucher scene, it's easy to imagine that the blue-and-pink drink represents transness due to its two shared colors of the trans flag. Looking a bit deeper, however, reveals that its juxtaposition with the green-and-yellow one suggests Kris's Dark- and Light-World color schemes, respectively. The former comes to represent freedom of self-expression, while the latter suggests its restriction. Synthesizing these ideas gets you the conclusion that the blue-and-pink drink does represent Ralsei's transfemininity due to the colors representing the self-expression of the game's trans protagonist.
