I guess I haven’t been doing a lot of bl rec posts lately huh… I’ve been reading I just try not to make a rec post until a series is finished. the ongoing ones I’m keeping up with specifically on lezhin are
killer crush: jumpscared by extras, they’re really good so far :)
Office hero: I’ve def posted about it, one of my faves. I like the extremely weird vibes and the reverse isekai, crazy to me how the mc is so committed to having this be a casual fling as if the past doesn’t have them shackled to each other in an unbreakable bond
Between the lines: I’m still interested in it but it’s getting long enough that I’m drifting off. I thiiiiink… ok if I’m remembering right my friend was telling me about how cn readers tried to cancel the artist for implicitly referring to taiwan as an independent country (some merch was going to be made available in cn, some in tw, so like. obviously she’d have to refer to them separately) (something like that). anyway props to the artist for standing her ground, and like. yall do you know the history of kr at all. obviously there’s gonna be some kr-tw solidarity. anyway I’m butchering this but it was something like that
A first of summers: it’s cute divorcee-uni student age gap, I was jumpscared by the artist having jojo fanart on tmblr. actually, we’re getting the yuri chapters with the li’s aunt and her partner now :)
youth report 1995: it’s kinda fun seeing the 90s as nostalgiabait, they use pagers lol. I also like how the main couple breaks up and has to get back together. of all of them, I think this one has the clearest/least dubious consent
moonlighting: my friend introduced this one to me, it’s fun. undercover cop/mob boss, ch 23 was really strong in creating a shift in how the mc perceives the li. I reeeaaally wish the dream-imagery was stronger… glowing figure just seems so pedestrian when it could be more stylized…
purrfect choice: shocked when the artist didn’t go for age gap considering their previous work. letting it marinate a bit, the dynamic doesn’t seem terribly strong, but. similar to their previous work it does feel like there’s some kinda arospec specter hovering over the love interest. also, the artist has a pretty good sense for eroticism imo
one-room ta: my friend showed me the anime promo and I was like. these sound like normal men?????? I dunno I was expecting something more cartoonish or more higher-pitched. anyway it’s still good, I’d like to get the full series but there’s just too many eps to buy at once esp considering the whole licensing thing and moving platforms… I got a couple of chs on tappy before they moved :/
In my bad: this is also really up there for faves right now, though in a pretty biased way. I like the fake-refreshing li and I think the art is nice to look at. the mc’s ex tried to stab him AGAIN (lol).
sugar trap: this is like watching a train wreck happening in slow motion lol, mc thinks they’re boyfriends forever <3 and li thinks he’s a disposable fling
Breathtaking alliance: the expressions are fun and it’s pretty funny so far, tho the sexual aspect of the rx still hasn’t moved much out of the dubcon fuck or die dynamic
virtual strangers: extremely stupid mmorpg bl lmao. I think there’s just like 5 chs until the series is over. in my mind the mc here is also arospec but nobody knows what aromanticism is and he’s in a committed relationship so I don’t think he ever figures it out
Sweeten the deal: just finished, it was a little rushed at the end but it was good overall. Maybe I ought to write a post for it, but… it’s funny and enjoyable, but it doesn’t make me rabid yknow. But I don’t regret getting all the chs for it (and I’ve regretted getting a series before)
Broken bloodline: fun weird vibes, love when a guy’s mega cursed. honestly the mc has a reigen-esque personality if reigen was more. genki. yknow what I mean?
Biscuit: hmmm… I think the eroticism is the artist’s strong suit.
