Seeing how Gooseworx explicitly told us in the movie's credits to not say anything until it releases digitally...
...let's respect that, okay y'all?
My thoughts on The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act (BIG SPOILER WARNING, so avoid if you wanna experience it blind)
I really, really liked it. It wasnāt perfect by any means, heck, I still have questions, but what series finale IS perfect, but it fulfilled my expectations, and I canāt wait to watch it again on the 19th.
1- All of Jaxās crashouts, outbursts, etc in this episode were expected, and hurtful. However it wasnāt out of character for him. Heck, that scene where Pomni tries to reach out in his mindscape and he fucking CHOKES her while staring into our souls, really frightening.
Thankfully, it didnāt feel like āforgivenessā when Pomni hugged him a few minutes later. Heck, they even gave us a scene of Gangle having conflicting feelings about his funeral and then being told that itās ok to feel that way.
2- a lot of people may have issues with the twist that the main cast is actually brain copies instead of actual humans trapped in a VR world, but honestlyā¦I think it fits.
It reminds me of this Black Mirror episode called White Christmas, where a woman got a bit of her brain copied into an Alexa-like tech, and the version of her inside that thing had thoughts and feelings of her own, it was basically like slavery, since the company copied her entire personality and consciousness into an AI piece and were able to literally torture her into submission.
So yeah. The characters just being copies makes sense to me. And well, their reactions to that info is understandable. They still felt like real people with real memories, and just found out that they really, truly, canāt leave. I love that they all reacted differently. Pomni trying to diffuse the situation, Jax taunting the others (āguess you still stay with mommy, Ragathaā) to avoid thinking about his human self, and Ragatha + Gangle shutting down entirely.
Ngl, at first I didnāt fully understand and thought their human bodies were dead š
3- Iām happy for the shippers, honestly. We got Funnybunny, funnydoll, and Abstragedy all in one episode. I still remember crying my fucking eyes out this afternoon seeing Pomni (who dislikes physical touch) hug Ragatha, and the music swelling as the camera panned around them? Omg my heart š like LITERALLY I squealed, especially when I noticed Pomni tightening her grip. It helps that they continued the touchy gestures throughout the episode.
Same with Pomni hugging Jax. I cried almost as much there, and I blame Michael Kovachās voice acting and the musical score. The way he kept holding her tighter pulled my heartstrings, man š and when he said āI hate you, you know thatā, I said āno you donāt.ā
Astragedy, oh my lord. Their tension, whether you view it as platonic, romantic, or something else entirely, you could FEEL it. Obviously my favorite part about them in this finale was Zooble wiping away Gangleās tears. This is corny of me to say, but I like to believe that their human counterparts eventually find each other and maybe fall in love. (Same with funnydoll, cough)
4- Jax. Oh my god, Jax. Personally, I was never a huge fan of the guy. Never found him hot, never found him endearing. But I wonāt deny that he is well written and layered. It quite shocked me that he abstracted so early. Iāll admit though, there couldāve been more buildup to it. Then again, all the full abstractions were offscreen. I think if it as similar to dissociation.
I actually liked seeing his backstory with Ribbit and Kaufmo (who is voiced by Arin Hanson btw). It reshapes his reaction to Kaufmoās funeral in episode 1 so much more.
His argument (more like a screaming match) with Ribbit on the snowy summit felt painfully realistic. It especially hurt more that these scenes were shot from a first person pov instead of third. I canāt explain it, but it doesnāt feel like itād hit as hard if it was third person.
And then it cuts to his pov of meeting Pomni, and the altercation in the gun episode? Oh my god.
I appreciate the writers for not having Pomniās hug magically change him back to normal. That wouldāve been predictable, and more fitting for a kidās show. And as I mentioned earlier, I like that he wasnāt 100% forgiven for bullying Gangle. Sheās allowed to feel conflicted.
That being said, I do wish the writing focused just as much on Ragatha, Zooble, Gangle and Kinger. Alas, Iām not expert in the cartoon or writing industry, and at the end of the day, itās Gooseworxās show, and theyāre allowed to write it that way. Maybe she didnāt have enough room in the time span she was allowed.
5- The reactions to Caine coming back in my theater were practically explosive. Iām guilty of saying āWHAT??ā I donāt fully understand it, I think he got transported to the Void like a timeout instead of actual deletion? It wasnāt clear to me. But regardless, that was such a cool sequence, seeing how he programmed people into the Circus. Like, really cool. The animation is mwah.
Iāll admit, it felt just a little bit fast paced when Caine realized his mistakes, but hey, I like seeing likable characters admit their mistakes, flaws or crimes. Also, the bit with him yanking the blue dot out of his brain (was it Abel?) was so sick.
And just like with Jax, nobody was obligated to forgive Caine. He didnāt expect any. Heck, nobody did forgive him. Even with what he showed them later. I love you Zooble, for having such a good mindset about boundaries, communication and forgiveness.
6- finally, the ending. Iāve already seen a fair share of people complaining, saying it was corny. Which is valid. Or saying āthe ending was assā and treating it like itās a fact. ā¦not so valid. People are allowed to dislike or like the ending of this show. It didnāt meet everyoneās standards. But to me, whether or not itās good is subjective. Everyone has opinions. Personally, I think itās good! Not perfect, but good.
God, seeing the main charactersā be reassured by Caine of all people that their human selves are okay? It felt cathartic. You could feel the relief in everyoneās faces and bodies (minus Jaxās for obvious reasons). Faces that said āthatās me??ā and āim going to be okayā.
Thank god, the real names of everybody werenāt boring.
Pomni is Abigail
Ragatha is Susie
Zooble is Riley
Gangle is Zoey
Kinger is Grant and Queenie is Destiny
Jax is Leeroy
Theyāre all living their best lives in the real world. Whether or not this info is actually true, i donāt think it matters. It gives the characters peace of mind.
I donāt know why, but I didnāt actually expect the episode to use live actors to portray the Circus membersā human bodies. Itās actually super clever. Whoever the actors are (I forgot their names but they are in the credits), you did amazing. Especially Leeroy. It feels fitting that he hides his face in every photo.
ALSO! I had a feeling there was an end credits scene (the MCU trained me lol), but I did NOT expect all of the human characters to show up like that. I love that me and everyone in my theater understood the implications.
(Side note: I still love reading those old comics where the characters do get out of the Circus and meet each other in real life, those are amazing. Itās ok that theyāre AUs now.)
Final thoughts: So I wouldnāt call this a āhappily ever afterā ending like some think it is. Jax is still abstracted, and they still have to build trust with Caine.
Remember what I compared the twist to earlier with the Black Mirror episode? Itās not just that theyāre copies of brains.
Think of them as them being born again. Born into confinement, born with memories of their past life, yes, but born into what is basically a prison. Thankfully, now they can make it a home.
So, Iād say this finale is bittersweet. With a side of psychotherapy.
Love your analysis especially with everyone being very heated on the subject.
Responding this screenshot, yknow, cause, yknow.
English isnāt my first language but I study it in college, and I suppose Iām pretty good at it at this point. But I remember when I was in high school and I still had some struggles with the language.
I trained by reading and playing video games. I remember getting stuck in Ace attorney Miles Edgeworth because I couldnāt remember what mud meant. And instead of looking It up I just struggled for an hour before looking up the solution online.
I think the word mud is now engraved in my soul, it annoyed me so much when I remembered what it was.
I had a similar struggle with the word spade in one of my assignements last year. Never seen this word before, now I wonāt ever forget it.

Iām in a kingdom hearts obsession phase lately.
I watched the intro on YouTube and I fell right back in my obsession for these games.Ā
I first played it when I was in middle school, I had no idea how to play a RPG. So I mostly just hit my way through the game before getting stuck because my level was to low and I didnāt use any ability or item. My dad had to explain the menues to me after I was almost at the end.Ā
When I first saw the mix of Disney and final fantasy (for a kid who had no idea what final fantasy was), I was like super confused about how this games could be any good or even engaging in their characters and story.
And then I played KH1, to say it was life changing is the least I can say. The music, the characters and the gameplay I loved everything. And every game of this series I played is so good.Ā
The beginning of KH2 is so incredible, Roxas and his raw emotions and story was amazing and so unexpected for a beginning.
Of course like everyone I love Riku, talk about a drama queen. I love a character overcoming their flaws but still staying true to themselves.Ā
I never played some games and only watched the movies: recoded, 358/2, chain of memoriesā¦But I plan to play most of them, except chain of memories I never liked card games so when I saw the whole gameplay relied on this I wasnāt thrilled. Especially since I liked playing kingdom hearts for its nervous and dynamic combats.Ā
No matter the game I always love to dive in the adventure.
What is your favorite Kingdom hearts game and character ?
Aro/ace phobia is really insidious.
I never had anyone say that I was a disgrace or disgusting for my orientation. But i had sometimes no answer when I said it or worse I was told it would change when I grow up. Breaking news I came out at 12 and now Iām 19 Iām still aroace.
Itās crazy how people donāt believe in kids capacity to find out who they are. And what if they change their minds later ? Isnāt it better to acccept what they say now even if it might change ? Make them feel safe and seen ?
My cousin even made a bet with me when i was 14, saying I would date someone before Iām 20. Spoiler alert: he is gonna lose that bet.
An aro/ace feelings on gender:
I just saw a post about gender apathy in the aro/ace community. And it makes so much sense when I think about it.Ā
Ep 7 hazbin hotel:
Loved it of course. What a good way to set up the final.
Lucifer is so silly I love him. The guy is trapped and the second he sees Alastor he forgets about the whole situation just to annoy him.
Alastor is a professional rage baiter, Vox is so easy to manipulate for him. Just one word and Vox keeps looking for his validation. I mean come on Vox, you really put yourself in a bad position pushing the other Vees away for your toxic gay situationship with Al.
His song Brighter was amazing, this dude is such a jealous prick. He really killed only to gain more and more power because it was never enough.
I love the detail of the little accessory on his suit changing as he climbs the ladder.
The hotel team not doubting angel is in danger is so good. It would have sucked to have le clichĆ© moment : « He betrayed usĀ Ā», « was everything a lieĀ Ā» because of course it wasnāt. Poor Angel and Husk canāt catch a break.
Heaven crisis to the attack of vox was so good especially with Sera. I really like her character development. Her and Sir. Pentious' song was so cute, I never expected them to be kind of friends. Sera being crushed under the fear and responsibilities while Pentious, being the cutie he is, calms her anxiety, which was everything.
Lute was clearly so happy to āhave a reason to attack Hell, because her mental state is clearly « stableĀ Ā» lately. Herās and Able are a duo I am interested to see more of honestly. Because Abel is just a total sweetheart. Their reprise of Gravity was so powerful and cool.
The final song was really amazing, I don't know if it's on purpose but as the song goes on it feels like you climb up. You start at the hotel where the characters are at the bottom stairs, then vow and the Vees in the tower, then Abel and Sera in heaven and finally Sera in her chapel (I think it's that).
The hotel part is really funny and cute especially with Vaggie and Charlie. The reprise once I get up there by vox and Alastor was so ironic and funny.
I never expected Val to pull a Stolas moment but I loved it. Then Velvette comes in and makes it even better.
Lute and Abel was a really cool and powerful moment of the song, I hope she will be the next antagonist.
And the final part of Sera was really moving and showed her personal struggles, hoping for guidance where there is not.
It was an amazing episode.
EP 6 Hazbin hotel (spoiler)
Wow wow wow. Amazing as always (I know I always have positive reviews, but honestly this season is fire).
Okay, letās start with Chaggie.
I love these girls. They are amazing; this fight and the fact that itās Charlie who takes responsibility for everything and apologises clearly were perfect. If she had kept going down the hill and denied it, it would have been annoying or bad because Vaggie would have to be the one to solve it. They are so cute; their song was cute and sexy. Like, what do you mean they dance so well together? And I loved how Vaggie just calmed her down with « Shut up, I want you now. Ā» And I also love that Vaggie reassures Charlie, who has been in a mental breakdown since the start of the season, but also makes herself clear on the fact that she needs to be heard.
The Vees were perfect as usual; Vox is still a prick, and Val and Velvette clearly understand he is trying to impress Alastor any way he can, even if it means putting them on the side. Val yelling, « Iām from fucking Florida,Ā Ā» made me laugh so hard. Iām kind of worried about what they are going to use Angel and Lucifer for. I have the theory that Lucifer will be used to open a portal to heaven, but I ain't sure.
Huskerdust fans have been fed in this episode. Husk's song about his unhealthy relationship with alcohol and gambling was really good; seeing him fall back into his bad habits is hard. Luckily Angel arrives. And in drag!!!!!! He is so beautiful, and his song was beautiful and clearly inspired by Jessica Rabbit. I loved how Husk was unable to look away from Angel (lovestruck).
Their talk is so soft and true; itās really honest, and I love that about them.
My poor Angel canāt have a break; being manipulated by Vox like this is another level of sick. But hey, what did we expect from a cult leader? Vox would use anyone to gain power; letās not forget he is an overlord, and he wants to become the new god.
Carmilla is really consistent in her protective manner and makes me curious of her backstory. She clearly lost her partner, but how and when? Maybe in an extermination
Iām so excited to see the end of the season but also sad itās ending so soon. But Iāll happily wait.

Episode 5 Hazbin Hotel: (spoiler)
I was kind of scared the fact that the episode would be in the same location for a long time would make it less interesting, but oh boy was I wrong.
Charlie was still hyperfixating on Vox and Heaven, which is logical based on her character, and people should calm down with her. She acts bad? Yeah, itās logical in her character, plus you canāt babyfy Alastor or Vox on one side and spit on Charlie on the other. You can not like her (its obvious you can't like every character), but saying she is badly written isnāt fair.
Her crashing out on Lucifer is valid; letās not forget the guy is staying at the hotel, yes, but he isnāt doing anything. He wasn't even aware Charlie was in trouble with Vox. And the one time he does, he involuntarily makes the situation worse, giving Hell a show on how the Morningstar are « dictatorsĀ Ā».
Vaggie and Lucifer were a really funny duo. Why canāt this man talk normally lol? I loved the explanation of why he canāt hurt sinners; it makes so much sense. I mean, what is more frustrating than to live with an eternal reminder of your mistakes and not be able to hurt it even when they fuck up? Plus, they clearly needed to explain why he didnāt do anything before regarding hell; why would he care for a kingdom over which he has no power?Ā And he is too powerful; they needed to give a reason why he canāt just solve everything.
Alastor completely manipulates Vox with so much ease. This man is a gay disaster waiting to happen. Vox is so dependent on Alastor's validation. For me itās clear the Vees are going to split at some point, with Vox going solo and failing spectacularly. And god was he hilarious, being just an old racist prick; even Val was embarrassed by him.
The songs were incredible; Vox Populi with Luci's part was really cool, and the Vox part really showed how manipulation of the population through media is easy. The last song was just really showing how much of a menace Vox actually is; talk about a drama king (the guy had his giant shark float next to him).
The angels really were naive and not mentally prepared for the reality of hell. Especially Emily, who finally realised the whole reality of the exterminations. Because itās easy to believe baskets will resolve the issues until you are in front of the victims of a GENOCIDE (is it ironic to think heaven isnāt any better than real countries? Yes).
But yeah, Sera crashing out was clearly the wrong way to react; I mean, you literally said they deserved to get killed.
And the end of the episode was good; Vaggie was totally right to call out Charlie, and she needed this. Because even if they are a couple, she isnāt listening. I liked that Vaggie puts her foot down on what is happening, that Charlie needs to stop with Vox propaganda and focus on the hotel and try to solve the problems.
Iām a fan of Hazbin hotel since the pilot aired on YouTube. As an aroace of course when I learned Alastor was like me I was thrilled. I mean we can count on our hands the number of offial characters being aroace. One of my main hopes is that they actually tell it in the show.
I mean yeah Rosie made a joke about him being an ace in a hole but not everyone can understand the joke. Nor does everyone wants and will search about the meaning of it.
What I hope for season 2 for Alastor is him or someone clearly telling that he doesnāt feel romantic and sexual attraction toward anyone (if itās a dialogue with Vox it would be even better, I live for one sided radiotastic).
And donāt even get me started on the argument that "asexual people can have sex and enjoy it." Yes, thanks for that insight, but itās not the point here. Alastor, as a character, has most likely a sex-repulsed identity (which I would be happy with because I am too). We already have so little representation; we donāt need an army of horny drawings everywhere all the time.
If you want to ship him, thatās fineāI canāt stop you from doing it. But why is 90% of the art featuring Alastor ships like Radio Apple and never about his asexuality? It kinda feels like our identity is a joke at this point.
In the notes someone said Alastor thinks he's straight. Was that ever explicitly said? I just finished season 1 and have watched it over a few times while introducing other ppl to the show and I don't remember that ever being said.
Obviously that doesn't automatically mean he knows he's ace. They have a point there but that also doesn't mean he thinks he's straight. Not trying to cause an argument, I'm just wondering if I missed something
It was never mentioned actually you are right. It was never implied or said he think he might be straight.
For me Alastor doesnāt think he is straight especially since he lived in hell for so long and never looked disturbed or discriminatory against queer people. For me he just doesnāt know what he is and donāt really care. But of course itās up to interpretations āŗļø
Before anyone goes and twists her words, pay attention to what she said.
"Anyone".
Anyone =/= everyone
There's a subtle difference.
What Charlie means is that redemption can come from ANYONE. It's a matter of choice, hard work and self reflection.
But it doesn't mean that EVERYONE can do it, or is willing to put in the work.
It's basically the same kind of logic Auguste Gusteau followed with his statement "Everyone can cook", which was later fully understood by Anton Ego.
Ep 3 and 4 of Hazbin Hotel:
Omg !!!!!!!! It was amazing !
OMG Hazbin Hotel season 2 is out !!!!!
Iām so happy and excited to see the rest of the season! The first episodes we got were amazing. I loved every song (though "Like You" is my least favorite, itās still a good song). The Veeās performances are incredible, especially when they sing. Velvet has a beautiful voice, and I loved āRespectlessā so much in the first season. I was really happy to hear more from her. Vox clearly knows how to craft amazing songs, and he got two in the first episode, which is so cool. Valentino is still an asshole, but a funny one.
Sera's song was beautiful; it was a slap when I heard it. I didnāt really like her in the first season, but I'm starting to change my mind with episode 2.
Pentious's backstory was honestly so unexpected, and I find it so cool that we finally get to mention the characters' lives from when they were alive (first with Vox and then Pentious). Itās a huge part of who they were, and before this, it never really got mentioned in the show. Not everyone followed Vivzy back in the day to keep up with the characters' backstories. Plus, Pentious was so cute as a humanāmy heart is melting.
Emily is still as bubbly as ever, and I love her for that. She clearly stands up for herself and supports Charlieās project.
I donāt know what to think of Abel yet. I donāt think heās a bad guy, but he clearly isnāt very brave. Itās hard to say whether I like or donāt like him since he doesnāt talk much yet.
Lute is completely losing it, and I love it! It gives her character unexpected depth. She has a hard time staying focused, calm, or rational, especially with those visions messing up her perception of the world.
Charlie is so stressed and overwhelmed, and I donāt think itās going to get any better soon with all the Vee issues. Alastor is clearly being petty in the first episode, which is kind of funny. The guy can take down dozens of people without a problem, but heās acting like a three-year-old.
Husk and Angel are so cute; I love the character development here. Vaggie trying to find a new name is adorable too. I mean, yeah, Adam named her, and we all know where he got the inspiration.
I canāt wait to see more and hear the other songs. I am addicted to musicals, so this show is like a drug to me!

Am I the only one thinking Amazon prime is handling the promotion of Hazbin hotel season 2 pretty badly ? I feel like we saw too much. And I say that as I try to avoid the leaks and music release. I mean the 2nd trailer showed to much if you ask me and then we got a whole minute of episode one and then 2 songs (trust us and gravity).
I mean I personally prefer not seing so much and be surprised by the season and show. And itās hard to avoid all this because if you are a fan every social media is a huge add and leak minefield. Plus letās not lie even when you donāt wanna see leaks a part of you still wanna see them.
So yeah I feel like they mess up a bit. Why would you release a whole minute of ep 1 ! Before the release !
Per example Glitch studio never showed as much. Their trailers always felt well balanced for me especially knights of Guinevere.
Helluva boss
I love helluva boss like a lot of people I think. And I agree with people sometimes the pacing or the writing can be sloppy but itās like any show. Yes it cant be perfect but itās also what shows itās made by humans (especially in an era where IA threatens artist and any artistic field). Any piece of media can be and will be flawed.
