And I would always think, how many children have you actually met? People are extraordinarily diverse, and children especially have a knack for saying the most surprising combinations of words! (Source: I have had literally thousands of students in my career as a teacher.)

Anyway, I recently showed someone a cute video of an otter in a Japanese zoo, and the person immediately said it was AI. But going to that zoo’s social media and official website showed the same otter enclosure, the same otter, and even the same zookeeper in multiple pictures and videos. This person just had a “gut feeling” and no actual reason to suspect AI.

I worry sometimes that my art will get called AI simply because I am not that skilled yet, and my genuine errors will be held up as evidence my work is AI, because “no artist would make that mistake.” (And this will of course impact beginner and intermediate artists most! If you don’t paint perfectly, better not post anything or people will think it’s AI! 🙄) (And never mind that photos just look weird sometimes!)

Idk, I get that we shouldn’t believe everything on the internet, but I think that applies to accusations of fraud/AI use, too. You can’t just assume that everything that doesn’t match up to your personal life experience must be AI or fake.
