i do kinda feel bad for lute because like. I do think she genuinely thinks the exterminations were the morally correct thing to do. And I can even understand the mental gymnastics that go into her mindset. And what's worse, right after her favorite person got murdered in front of her, everyone's immediately switching up, which from her perspective is fucking insane because like. Now hell is the biggest threat it's ever been, and NOW's the time we choose to start believing the sinners can be good? Not only that, but no one is listening to her. I know that lute sounds crazy to most of heaven because they haven't been involved in the exterminations (and can therefore look at the situation more objectively), but genuinely everyone just shoots down her points without really hearing her out. This is not to say that she should be heard out necessarily, but that I think it would've gone a lot smoother if someone would've been like "hey. I hear ur concerns and I get where you're coming from, but we can't ignore the penn was legitimately redeemed." And yeah lute probably wouldn't have been swayed or at least would've taken a lot more time to sway, but it would've at least been a step in the right direction. Instead of, yk, just making an already high strung and emotionally fraught situation worse for one of the people most affected by all this. Idk tho
