we literally do not exist as isolated individuals. the way we conceive of ourselves is directly informed by the culture we live in, by our parents, by our schooling, our friends, the media we consume, societal norms and social mores, etc etc. we are not neatly contained individuals. what i do affects you and what you do affects me. this has always been the case

i think people in the middle ages acutally did know how to make photorealistic drawings they just chose not to because it’s funnier to draw some fucked up creature

i think it’s silly to be ashamed of your art because it’s not in a museum and of your voice because it’s not selling out stadiums. there will always be people who enjoy and appreciate what you can do.
