calling urself TME u might as well wear a dunce cap and a sign on ur shirt that says I love it when men treat me like shit
it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.

fascinating how often men expect women to sympathize with their fears of being perceived as or treated like a woman
so much "masculinity" is constructed around the certainty that being gay or being a woman is inherently demeaning. and we're supposed to nod along supportively
"male loneliness crisis" ok so like.....what would happen if you started acting like a better friend to other men in your life? what's stopping you? is it the fear of being perceived as one of your inferiors?
"men aren't allowed to show emotions" ok so likeâŚ..what would happen if you started being more emotionally expressive? what's stopping you? is it the fear of being perceived as one of your inferiors?
#patriarchy hurts men #patriarchy hurts boys
i think you've VERY fundamentally misunderstood the point of my post tbh
men and boys first and foremost hurt themselves to avoid being perceived as their lessers (i.e. women and gay men)
they could stop. but the punishment is being perceived as one of us, and that would be just terrible. so they won't.
âThe first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. If an individual is not successful in emotionally crippling himself, he can count on patriarchal men to enact rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem.â
â The Will To Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love (2004), p. 66, by bell hooks
So, yeah, those tags seem to me to be reasonably related to your point.
yes, your tags would be appropriate for an entirely different person's book. not my post. well observed
the entire point of the of the post is that i'm not going to sympathize with men experiencing "rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem" when that self-esteem is built on and maintained by the foundational belief they must be inherently superior to me
if they gave up that belief, those "rituals" would have very little power. but they clearly understand that they benefit from patriarchy more than they are harmed by it, which is why they won't let it go
hope this helps

What if we banned all advertising? Not regulate itâabolish it. This proposal would transform manipulation machines, and maybe save democracy
Even as an advertiser (especially as an advertiser), I am convinced that outlawing advertising is the best thing we can do for our world now. More than gun control. More than tackling climate change. More than lowering the price of eggs. Removing these advanced manipulation tools would force everyoneâpoliticians includedâto snap back into reality. By outlawing advertising, the machinery of mass delusion would lose its most addictive and toxic fuel.
I started out reading this smugly saying to myself yeah, right.
But by the end I'm sold. Let's ban advertising.
We can start small, maybe with city ordinances. Then roll it out county wide, then at the state level. Once other states see how quiet and sane things can be, they'll adopt the ban too. The ones that don't will remain snarling islands of rage & delusion until the people move away.
Let's ban advertising.

mainstream drag is like step 1. be a man, aka part of the class that has imposed insane gender stereotypes on women for millennia. step 2. dress up as an exaggerated hyper-sexualized version of said stereotypes. step 3. perform for an audience and have free reign to use every misogynistic slur under the sun. step 4. get on tv, become famous and make lots of money. step 5. take the drag off and continue being a man that's ultimately unaffected by those gender stereotypes while profiting off of them and doing nothing to change them
Right genuinely thank you for including this one bc i cannot stress this enough, the most important part isnât just reinforcing those female beauty standards, itâs also profiting off of them at the literal expense of your fans (mostly women and girls). Bc of course these products are generally considered high end, niche, and expensive.
Drag race is like boot camp for narcissistic males to learn how to generate a cult of personality and exploit their following for every single penny they can wring out of them. Ru Paul picks contestants that he knows already do numbers on social media and he then gives them the tools and training they need to become a successful brand.
Itâs quite seriously an influencer industrial complex
Step 7: frequently remind your audience in graphic detail how much you love cock and getting plowed and taking loads and even compare yourself to things like a public toilet or a glory hole, as a subtle reminder that youâre a gay man who couldnât possibly be capable of ever harming women or being a misogynist
Strep 8 (optional): have a gender journey reveal at exactly the right moment to meteorically launch your career to stardom beyond your wildest dreams
have you noticed that everything depends on various factors
does anyone know how to get what you want when you're the type of person who avoids everything
