THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT BUILT BY THE HUGE CORPORATIONS OR G6OVERNMENT BUREAUCRACIES. WAS BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO WORK. AND, IS WORKING PEOPLE WHO SHOULD CONTROL THE WORK TO BE DONE. YET, AS LONG AS EMPLOYMENT IS TIED TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S PR0FITS, THE WORK WON'T GET DONE.

and that's because "minority" isn't an innate status that's immutable, it's a descriptive term that attempts to make inferences about your relationship with the world and society around you. when we talk about minorities, oppression, structural ableism, etc. it's not a commentary on the nature of things, it's an observation about how society and people and countries and culture works. and if you don't understand that then you won't understand how to liberate people from oppression

I hate these kind of responses. They give me the same vibe as being asked, "Yeah, but what were you wearing when you got catcalled?" They put the responsability for the problem onto the person who was discriminated against, instead of the one doing the discriminating. Disabled people should not be expected to go through grueling explanations or justify their needs before those needs are respected.
