Just saw this post on my dash and because the person who made it blocked me. I’ll answer here.  Their post: “Literally never gonna forgot the trans man that gave a speech at a women’s college about how he doesn’t yet have male privilege while he was the student body president. So you know a man so happened to rise politically to president had nothing to do with gender.” In American, 4 trans people have been elected into office. 4/4 of them were trans women or non-binary DMAB people.  In the rest of the world, 19 trans people have been elected. 19/19 of them were DMAB.  Trans women elected to office: 23 Trans men: 0 No trans men have been elected. None.

Everything I see about trans men is either about them getting pregnant or looking hot, not a single name immediately pops in my head when I see “trans men”, contrary to trans women that I can name at least 3.I’m pretty sure there’ll be more results leading to pornography than to trans men’s accomplishments when you google about it, no female has or will ever have male privilege, trans men’s “privilege” only last until people know their sex.

It drives me kind of nuts that people insist you talk about Detransition in a way that’s neutral and constantly reassuring that transition is good for some people. Especially when a lot of that is coming from people who have not experienced as much of transition as I have. I, and other detransitioned women, need room to grieve and voice our feelings experiences even when - arguably ESPECIALLY WHEN - they don’t fit the popular narrative.

My home will be a home with no loud anger, no explosive rage, no slamming doors or breaking glass, no name calling, shaming or blackmail. My home will be gentle, it will be warm. It will keep my loved ones safe. No fear, no hurt and no worries. I may come from a broken and twisted place but I will build something whole and safe. I’ll sing in the shower again, cook with a smile and dance in all the rooms. I will heal.
