Big fan of the radio tag naming system, so I've carefully chosen the appropriate tag. Here's how I chose it.
I was born in April 1999, which coincides with the breeding month of most wolves in the wild.
Documented wolves born in this period were assigned radio tags ranging from 182 through likely 294, assuming our male gray wolf 294 was in fact born in April of 1999.
Not all tag numbers were assigned for numerous reasons. According to this post, several available numbers were still left between the gaps for the year. I was born early in the month, so I picked one of the lower numbers as I likely would have been identified sooner.
So, I've picked out for myself the unassigned Yellowstone radio collar tag of 196F to match.
