“I love you,” Whumper whispered against the shell of Whumpee’s ear, their arms wrapping tighter around the other as they brought Whumpee even closer to their chest.
Whumpee’s mouth opened in a silent sob, tears streaming down their face. The silence was loud. Too loud. They forced themself not to fight against Whumper’s grip but it was impossible as fear crawled up along their spine.

Why don’t we talk about “you wanna go home a rethink your life” more? Apart from being hilarious, it’s a great little nugget of Jedism and the implications are just,,, so much. Obi-Wan wasn’t pissed, didn’t judge, frankly was barely paying attention, and he didn’t really influence the guy towards a particular outcome - he just made him think.
Just how often do Jedi do that? Walk past people doing shady things, go ‘oh boy, they could do so much better’ and just casually tell them to think.
It’s hysterical when you consider it - when Jedi are too busy to deal with you and need to extricate themselves from the situation, sometimes they’ll just psychically convince you to work on bettering yourself. Imagine: you’re a random scumbag going about your own dirty business, and one day the hem of a brown cloak brushes against your leg, and you’re hit with the sudden desire to reflect on every mistake you’ve made, find yourself a reputable job, quit drinking, repair your relationship with your parents and go make up with your wife - and you never figure out what happened.
just because I’m currently writing a scene in coruscant I feel like the way the city filled with people who live next to jedi doesn’t get explored enough
like that kid ended up having that interaction because obi wan and anakin jumped out of a senator’s window chasing a droid and ended up several levels down while on a mission, but like
jedi live in coruscant and so there would be watering holes that have jedi regular and markets that sell the good tabard that jedi shop at and there would be a bunch of people whose apartments or officers were in the right spot to see jedi younglings and masters alike falling passed their window because they couldn’t be bothered to grab a turbo lift and it just makes me so amused to think about how there would be so many coruscanti residents who are like ‘Jedi are so unapproachable in their lofty towers’ and other coruscanti who are like— a tourist stuck in traffic on the speedway who just had a jedi fall onto the bonnet of their speeder and then jump off again while cackling, shortly followed by another one who is hollering about their new dye-job (their long padawan braid actually looks lovely in green) and someone the next lane over is like ‘your first padawan catch, I take it? this is just how they learn, you get used to it. it’s when the Jedi Masters are in a hurry that you really get a heart attack. How they have such a serious and stoic reputation I’ll never know. Anyway, welcome to Coruscant, baby!’
