I can’t stand being bored and have low spoons for learning new hobbies so unfortunately I think I’d revert to spending a lot more time on social media, which would be extremely bad for my mental health. I would definitely have some emotional difficulty directly from the lack of reading, too. Always having a few books I’m working on, a few stories I’m living in, seems to buffer me against irl problems and stress, so without that I’d have a lot more mood instability and more anxiety overall.

If you can't make a donation, you can help to ensure people do not forget what Kendall and other survivors have gone through and continue to go through as they pursue legal action, and that Gaiman has already spent a lot of money in the attempt to sue these women for speaking out.

When all the shock of white and taffy, the world's baubles and trinkets, leave the pavement strewn with the confetti of aftermant, the leaves come. Patient, plodding, a green skin growing over whatever winter did to us, a return to the strange idea of continuous living despite the mess of us, the hurt, the empty. I think it's actually essential to children's moral development to be exposed to short stories moderately beyond their reading level where a bunch of fucked up shit happens and then instead of offering a moral lesson or any sort of emotional or narrative resolution it just ends.

#its preparation for when fucked up shit happens in real life without any reason or resolution to it #at some point you have to just deal with the fucked up shit in the absence of anything that provides a sense of closure
