The careful way Aziraphale walks?

The way he looks so solid and strong?

Thinking about this in relation to Azzy's canonically having military experience -- leading a platoon, which if the Heavenly Host is organised along similar lines to the British Army, means 25-30 angels commanded by (the equivalent of) lieutenant or second lieutenant -- not *super* high in the commissioned/officer ranks, but not bottom-of-the-barrel by any means.

And it's very likely that he served with distinction -- however Heaven defines that -- in the Great War, because a posting like Guardian of the Eastern Gate is not the kind of gig you give to an incompetent lollygagger. It's probably part of how Gabriel sold Az getting this position to Head Office (though his *actual* motivation for giving Azzy the job might well have been to get him out of the miserable, suffocating environment of Heaven).

So there's this cute, soft, cuddly, fluffy, very kind angel with military experience at a command level and involving a not inconsiderable amount of active combat (likely at close quarters/melee range; swords, hand-to-hand etc) -- the Battle of the Bookshop is only the most overt indication of this; as the above post points out, it comes through subtly but noticeably in Aziraphale's overall physicality throughout the show.

I am reminded of one of those 'goes hard as heck but comes from a tumblr shitpost' phrases -- "It took a lot of violence to become this gentle." (paraphrased)

Hihi. So my question is pretty silly and I know it's really not important, but I'm going to ask anyway because I think of this every time I rewatch the episodes of S01 and aesthetically I feel like it was a missed opportunity. So: I'd like to know if it was unconsciously or consciously decided to not make Crowley wear pointed leather boots, because it would have just looked just that little bit more awesome.

David Tennant got to work with the costume department to pick his clothes. I suspect that you need to take that one up with him.

It’s the coffee shop over the road. Neighbouring doesn’t necessarily mean Next Door.

But it is true that in Good Omens the TV show Intimate Books is no more. Not because of cowardice but because the Soho of 2023 is not the Soho of 1990, and the little porn shops went away when anyone could make porn happen on their phones, and the coffee shops and specialty shops took over the places where they once had been.

I recently walked through Soho, watching a group of young touristy men going “OMG A PORN SHOP WITH VISIBLE ADVERTISING - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH” right in front of what might be the only porn shop left in that street.

And all I could think was: You’ve ain’t seen nothing yet - imagine these streets thirty years ago.
