The subtleties of this show are SOOOO well done. "Oh, right, the whole residential school thing", which this white teacher remembers as an afterthought. Because that's what it is for so many white settlers on Turtle Island: an AFTERTHOUGHT, something seen as fucking TRIVIAL. "Can you imagine stealing children?", she says, as though Neevee didn't fucking LIVE it (obligatory reminder that the last residential school in "Canada" closed in 1997). I could go on, but man, this show is so good at depicting the insidious and fucked up colonial attitudes of many white Canadians
