Soon every kid in the school had pet flies tied to strings. They’d even get like multiple flies and carry them around like fly balloons. Even some teachers were getting in on it. Personally, I never got into it but I didn’t have the dexterity needed to do something precise as tying a string around a fly’s leg. No one would help me with it either. I was introvert and weirdo with no friends. I still am.

Things started to fall apart when state testing came around and the sound of constant buzzing became way more aggravating to everyone. There was also the problem of flies dying and the floors being covered in dead fly bodies. Like, despite having them as pets people still didn’t like touching flies with their bare hands. When the flies died they just left them on the floors, seats, and desks or whatever. It wasn’t uncommon to sit in a seat just covered in dead flies. You get used to having fly corpses, and fly juice on your butt after a while.

Even though fly pets were eventually banned (and hefty punishments were thrown out for anyone caught with pet flies), there was still a large amount of flies left in the school. The school had basically become a breeding ground for flies. Lunch was inedible because of all the maggots. They’d even be dripping from the ceilings and stuff. They had to shut down school for at least a month to get the exterminators to purge the place. It wasn’t that effective. There were just so many maggots in every nook and cranny of the school that no amount of exterminators could effectively purge the place without completely knocking down the school.

So, the principal decided to release a modest of amount of spiders into the school to eat all of the flies and maggots. Long story short, it didn’t work. They just managed to create a weird fly-spider based ecosystem in the school. The school had to reopen eventually, and everyone just got used to all of the flies and spiders. The cafeteria had to be moved to a nearby building since the school’s cafeteria had become so infested with spiders and maggots that it had to be locked off.

see, Lake Baikal really isn’t a lake at all, it’s a deep rent in the earth’s crust called a Rift Valley that just happened to get water in it. and the Baikal rift is one of the deepest and narrowest on earth, making this deceptively placid lake slightly over a MILE deep! that’s bonkers nutso.

This is Eugene Ejike Obiora, he was strangled to death by a Norwegian police officer in 2006. The officer who killed him was acquitted, and has since been promoted to operation leader. 

In the police logs Obiora is always referred to by the n-word. 

Two of the policemen who were involved in the arrest had previously been reported for violence on 14 different occasions. The police officer who killed Obiora had been reported three times. 

The same officer was also involved in the arrest of Sophia Baidoo, a Ghanaian woman who worked as cleaner at a bank. She was arrested at her own workplace after a colleague had activated the safety alarm on her, refusing to believe that she was supposed to be cleaning there that night. She could prove that she worked there, and knew the codes to the security system, yet the police would not believe her. During the arrest, Baidoo was subjected to racist verbal abuse, and put in the same kind of chokehold that killed Obiora.

While lethal force is thankfully rare within the Norwegian police force, racism is still a massive problem. A recent study showed that among a group of 120 Norwegian teenagers, almost all of the young minority boys had at some point been subjected to racial profiling. These “random” stops are often deliberately made to be humiliating, with the police asking minorities how they are able to afford [expensive thing], or detaining them in public spaces (there was a recent episode from a McDonald’s where police lined up two minority boys—who were not accused of anything—and took pictures of them in front of the costumers).

This "the Wachowski Sisters stole the Matrix" thing is based on a lawsuit that was dismissed in 2004. The judges explanation of dismissal is nearly 60 pages detailing each claim and Sophia Stewart was never awarded copyright ownership of these franchises and never won any element of the case. It isn't an ongoing lawsuit and the story is often used by folks as a fundraising scam.

The same story was going around when I was in highschool more than 10 years ago, nearly word for word I swear, just change the most recent/upcoming court dates. If I found what was circulating back then it wouldn't surprise me if the reference numbers were the same.

The above image looks like its giving references, but is it? In which court were these actions filed by the plaintiff? How is anybody supposed to check this?

This is simply not true. It takes advantage of the fact that the intellectual property of poc is routinely stolen, it takes advantage of a community that wants justice for that, and it creates a climate of doubt... there is real work being stolen, but this isn't it.
