we're openly plural in that server and have mentioned that we're called the ribbon system but our display name doesn't mention it

Looking back at your life pre-syscovery, have you ever had a "funnier as a system" moment? Something that makes more sense now that you know you're plural?

our deepest apologies to whoever sent this oops. we've had this sitting in our inbox for a while but the first few times we paused partway through and the draft didn't save. and then we kept forgetting

i, kate, would be a tulip. yelena's one of those ones with the long bit in the middle and pink petals. idk about the others

when we were roleplaying some characters that we like who are a system by writing out in our book conversations between them. those characters were some of the first we discovered in our system after syscovery. also the fact that many of our self-insert ocs were plural in some way.

which in some cases is certainly a gift, because then people don't have assumptions about us based on it, and especially with pluralkit, they can see us as we see ourselves in the innerworld, and not as our body. we want to be seen as our innerworld selves. but we're still tied to our body, it plays a role in who we are.

our voice changes, our body language changes depending on who's fronting, but we don't get to see that often, because we're inside our body. and having youtube gives us a chance to view our body and how we affect it.

the pastor says you are possessed, and must be exorcised.

they cry out. they do not want to be exorcised.

your friends say it's normal to feel like different people at different times. they're just mood swings, genderfluidity. you have to accept that they're all just you.

they do not feel like you. they do not feel like mood swings. they are your friends.

your parents say you must be pretending, roleplaying, for attention and fun.

sometimes you find them fun. sometimes they are scary. sometimes they're just there. they want attention, yes; their whole lives are pretending to be someone else.

the psychologist says you have schizophrenia, that you are hearing voices. they're not real. validating them could be dangerous. what if they tell you to hurt someone?

they wouldn't do that. they care about people just as much as you do. and they remind you they are real. they are not hallucinations.

the people online say you have DID. this feels the most fitting. you do some research.

they say they are not real people. they are simply you, dissociated. and the only way to heal, to be functional, to be a real person, is to combine with them. to consume them into your essence until they are gone. anything else is anti-recovery. they never asked you if you want to recover.

they do not want to leave. they are not you, not just you. they are more. they are friends.

they are real.

They are real.

STOP IGNORING US!

We want to be part of the reason that plurality becomes accepted. Even if it's not accepted in our lifetime, we want to push the movement forward. We're not naive enough to think we'll be the main, or even a particularly noteworthy, element of the plural advocacy movement, but we want to do what we can.

(Like, when we tell people we're plural, that we're multiple people, we feel like we have to pretend to be this perfect idea of "multiple people in a headspace who take turns piloting this mechsuit body" or else they won't think we actually are multiple people. We can't talk about blurriness, we can't talk about non-possessive switches or blending or our shared memory and the fact that only one of us can experience things at a time, or else we won't fit into their narrative of being multiple people, so clearly we must actually be one person)

(Or even if they think we are plural, we still have to pretend to be more different than we are, or they won't consider us real. We are multiple, and we are one, but others can only see us as multiple *or* as one. And we'd rather be seen as multiple)
