“It takes ten times as long to put yourself together as it does to fall apart.”
— Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay (via books-n-quotes)
Very stressed about my final exam of my undergrad degree on Thursday and needing to focus so I've got back into using Forest! If anyone also has Forest/uses this app, send me a message so we can be friends and motivate each other!! X
My biggest fear was falling in love with someone new but still being in love with the idea of you. My biggest worry was not that I’d lose you completely but that I would find someone new that didn’t complete me.
Randy Theodule
I can’t remember ever having real time off over the winter break before now so it’s been a slow return to writing today, starting with some thoughts about infinite recurring events in time and space, parallel universes and events running backwards. It also feels very, very good to be back home in London ☕️

There we were in the middle of making this record and a total solar eclipse darkened Nashville on my birthday. My 29th year. A golden hour in my young-adult life. There are certain junctures that you can’t think your way through - you just have to feel. I found myself at one making this album. It was like the Universe was majestically saying, “This is a time to be present, to witness the beauty of this incredible world you are lucky to be alive in,” despite it being more complicated than ever and filled with so much darkness. We all need a little light right now. We all need for compassion and art to flourish. We need to remember that when moving forward feels impossible, somehow new love still finds its way up through the cracks in the sidewalk. The sun still rises and the birds still sing. Inspiration finds its way to you again. There are different masks we all wear that represent different sides of ourselves. None of them are solely us and yet they all are. There’s the lonely girl - the blissful girl - the new wife - the daughter missing her mother - the hopeful girl - the selfish girl - the sarcastic, rhinestoned Texan - the shy girl and the life of the party - the winner and the loser. They are all characters on this record.None of them alone are me and yet they all are. The golden hour is when all the masks come together as one and you can see, in perfect light, the whole picture of me. Golden Hour, Kacey Musgraves (2018).

Hello! A lot of you have been asking me where and how I’ve learn multiple languages and well, after a few hours of digging through my browser history and bookmarks, I was able to collect all of these resources. I have personally used all of these, so I can assure you they are useful! If there is something wrong with a website or a link, please let me know. Also, if you have any questions or if you want a learning buddy, my ask box is open. (I speak English and Spanish. I’m learning Korean, German, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, and Esperanto)
Note: Learning a new language requires a lot of dedication, more than you actually think! Especially if you’re learning multiple languages at the same time. It isn’t impossible, but it will take time. And by time I mean months and/or years! So please, be patient. Take your time. Don’t rush. Keep in mind that you will mess up and that’s okay. Practice as much as you can. Practice out loud. Talk to yourself if you can. It doesn’t matter if people think you’re crazy. They won’t be thinking the same when you become a polyglot, so don’t mind them. This is for you and your future.

That’s it. That’s all I have right now. I’ll try to search for more and will keep updating this list! If you have a request for a specific language, just send me an ask. Have fun and good luck!
My sister just got me started on Memrise for Japanese a few days ago and wow, it’s amazing. It’s not just flashcards but a combination of audio+visual+writing and uses user-submitted, ranked-by-vote mnemonic devices whenever possible. Plus, the way it keeps track of your progress is like a game, giving you points for doing well and letting you compete with other people. :)
And you get a bunch of extra points for reviewing old material at set intervals to make sure it sticks in your long term memory! Not to mention it has a very cute design, having each character/word/phrase be a ‘plant’ you have to keep ‘watered.’

100 Days of Productivity - Day 88/100
January 4th, 2018
I actually got quite a lot done today! Before work (at like 3am in the morning because I couldn’t sleep) I did some annotations of Jane Eyre. I then did some creative writing planning which is always fun. After a good day at work, I sat down and started + finished Turtles All The Way Down in one 5 hour sitting. It is now 1am and I am an emotional wreck. Yay for depressingly beautiful John Green books!

don’t study because you need or have to.
study because knowledge is power.
study because they can never take it away from you.
study because you want to know more.
study because it enhances you.
study because it grows you.
i just realized,,,,,,,…. i can literally be the best version of myself right at this moment the only one stopping me is,,,.,,,, me ??? wild
