Does anyone have a YPT group i could join? i'd love to study together 📚

if there isn't one already, and even a few people are interested, i'm happy to make one so we can do study sessions, stay accountable, and motivate each other. Just lmk! 📖✨

a little introduction:

on tumblr I go by athenais, and I use they/them pronouns. I am currently a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in classical philology, which means I'm studying the languages and literature of Ancient Greece and Rome! Besides English, German, Latin, and Ancient Greek, I have also studied Japanese (but that was many moons ago)!

research interests:

the intersection of narratology and linguistics

how languages shape the stories we tell

literature's influence on culture and culture's influence on literature

personal interests:

films and books (generally science fiction and fantasy!)

film soundtracks (I am a diehard Hans Zimmer and Ludwig Göransson fan)

owls (hoo could have guessed!)

taking before and after photos whenever I clean anything lol

what you can expect:

frequent posts! I try to post at least once a day

updates on my to do lists

tracking how much time I spend focusing/studying

quotes in Latin and Ancient Greek that I like with my translations

the occasional sweet treat

pictures of my notes, my iPad, and my messy cursive <3

some French (it's a requirement for my degree)

and more!

The most effective way to study for me personally, is writing everything in (full) sentences, so my notes get absurdly long. (This is all for my history exam tomorrow...)

I started learning German after I came back from my trip to Switzerland, and I like it! 🌺

my next final includes everything from CVS (physio+biochem+gross anatomy+embryo+histo+medicine+surgery); and it’s in 2 FLIPPING DAYS UGHHHHHHHH. i’m so exhausted already. oh, and i had matcha to celebrate the end of today’s exam :’)
