It's okay to change

one of the (many and increasingly stupid) reasons people refuse to stop calling trans women "dude" or "bro" or "mate" or otherwise referring to us in exclusively masculine terms is because they start wanting to do it more after we tell them not to. A trans woman's ability to be considered and seen as a "real" woman is often entirely dependent on how attractive others find us, and it turns out a lot of people find the establishment and enforcement of boundaries to be a supremely unattractive trait in a woman

it's just that like. if I were writing a story, and somebody said, "I think that character in your story is a trans woman," and I didn't want them to think that. I would probably avoid a scene where I have someone hand that character a trans flag and call them princess. And I wouldn't change what pronouns I use for them, or have them tumble out of a closet at their introduction. Oh and I wouldn't have a scene where they get really excited about the idea of being a princess instead of a prince
