Additionally, I have received abuse in my ask box (which I will be answering when I can) and threats. In particular death threats and rape threats.
I can see the real problem here already. Male domestic violence and rape is just invisible in our society because we donāt want to talk about this because it just damages the status quo of this fucking website.

So let me tell you about a metal band called āGloryhammerā...
The band was founded by the singer of AlestormĀ and is basically the best D&D campaign you will ever hear.Ā
Their first albumĀ āTales from the Kingdom of Fifeā tells the āclassicā fantasy story of a kingdom being overtaken by an evil wizard (so-far-so-good) and his armies of undead unicorns! Of course there is the prince of the kingdom, who has to rise to the challenge, find the mystical Hammer of Glory (I see what you did there) and in the end of course defeat the evil wizard (spoiler-warning I guess?) in the most amazing song of the album calledĀ āThe Epic Rage of Furious Thunderā.
So, evil defeated, hero victorious, kingdom liberated. So for the second album they go full Warhammer 40.000. In the distant future of 1992(!), the Kingdom of Fife spans a galactic empire, the Knights of Crail who helped defeat the wizard now are a space army and are tasked to guard the frozen and immortal body of the wizard, who with the help of chaos wizards breaks freeĀ and promptly seeks the help of a goblin king from another galaxyĀ to open a portal to hell on earth. Back on earth, the descendant of the prince from the first album gathers his allies (one of those is the king of California btw), seeks the astral hammer from the first album and battles the wizard in the final confrontation. That battle doesnāt go the way the heroes want tho, so the immortal king of California has to detonate is heart (which is a neutron star obviously) to destroy earth and open a rift in space-time where the next battle will take place come the third album.
Also: every band member represents one character in the story and they are always playing in costume at their shows, and most characters are aspects/avatars/reincarnations from each other (itās implied that the barbarian warrior from the first album is the king of California in the second).
tl;dr: please give Gloryhammer a listen, its an amazing band with great music and the best album concept I could think of for any fantasy and SciFi fan.

Their music has inspired whole plots of games before. Even if youāre not usually into metal, listen anyway- thereās space wizards and sorcererās frozen on asteroids.
