Anxiety & depression, much like addiction, does not discriminate. It doesn’t take into account: fame, status, or wealth. Much like @tdlockett12 said, “I had to live and rely on my weaknesses to get me through,” — this is the case for so many of us. The theme this week with my clients is self-care. Being selfish — in a positive sense. Putting themselves first, so they can become whole and begin fulfilling their roles as husbands, fathers, & men. @c_herren_ says “oftentimes we forget to nurture the internal” — and that is where self-care comes into play. Eating right, meditating, journaling, reading, or working out.. the list goes on. Good evening #recoveryposse —wanted to share this for all those continuing the process that is #recovery. Sometimes we forget to have fun and practice #selfcare & to have a good #laugh. My Saturday morning groups are themed “fun in recovery.” Yesterday, they played Pictionary! The clients really enjoyed themselves and laughed for the full hour. It’s important to allow ourselves to laugh and recognize that our SUD did not inspire our joy or happiness — but rather, held it hostage until we said #NoMore.
