the other day i saw a tiktok of a woman talking about how her hyper-militant abusive parents would sometimes punish her by “taking away her name” and referring to her as a prisoner number. genuinely terrible stuff, obviously. but i skimmed the comments and. listen. i truly DO NOT mean to dunk too hard on this person, like they could be a kid or something, but.

just. breathtaking. imagine if your primary reference for the concept of the un-personing of prisoners was (check notes) a book series about owls.

This is why it's important to Include stuff like this in fiction, especially ya fiction. It can be a lot of sheltered and/or indoctrinated children, in the case of a lot of rural "Christians", first introduction to these types of concepts in a way they can understand.

I don't think there's anything weird or shameful about it. Knowledge is knowledge, regardless of where it came from.

#I learned about transgender people from a book called... I think it was Eona?#before that I just thought it was mentally ill to be trans #cuz that's just what I had been raised to think #but I liked that character so #also it was fandom that helped me get comfortable with the concept of same sex couples #and for a sillier example I learned basic anatomical terminology for genitalia from listening to the game grumps read sonic fanfiction #because I never got sex Ed #and you know what hunger games in general #as a kid I just thought it was the cool murder game book #but it laid a lot of groundwork in me learning about the world #nobody starts out knowing things #and if you learn about the horrors of war by reading wings of fire then that's fine frankly #learning is learning

This game has genuinely changed my life. I’ve always loved thriller novels, video games, and tv shows, but Ace Attorney is truly something special. It is such an original idea and has made such an insane but fun fandom ꉂꉂ(ᵔᗜᵔ*)

Not only that, it is also the reason why I’m still so passionate about art today. Ace Attorney gave me the will to draw when I was going through art block, and it is what introduced me to my amazing followers (mostly on instagram).

So, happy birthday, Ace Attorney. May this milestone be a great one, and may there be so many more.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy free title update announced - Gematsu

Capcom will release a free title update for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy on November 19, the company announced.

The free title update will add new features like Gallery Mode, Episode Selection, Scene Creator, and Story Mode, as well as two additional languages with Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
