now that i’ve checked out everything on my radar for this anime season the two biggest stand out premieres for me unsurprisingly are indeed jaadugar and goodbye lara

everything about jaadugar is a breath of fresh air from its beautiful distinctive art style to its setting and history that’s so rarely if ever seen in anime on top of just being such an emotionally impactful narrative right from the beginning

goodbye lara also looks stunning—gorgeously vibrantly retro—but what really hooked me was the rug pull of following the little mermaid so closely before veering into original territory bc i truly have no idea what to expect now. plus it had one especially stellar line of dialogue
