Out Of The Dungeon

‘Lily…’, he whispered.

There she was. Lily Potter. The most beautiful girl in the world. The only woman he ever loved was standing not five feet away with a small smile and immediately he wanted to run to her as he did in his younger days during their childhood years but then, he remembered.

‘No, you can’t be real. You’re dead!’

Lily continued to smile that secretive smile, just like she used to when she knew the answer to something he didn’t at Herbology class. She approached him slowly and serenely.

‘The ones we love never truly leave us, Severus. I’ve been here,’  she raised her hand over his heart.

Severus started to weep openly, his tears could not be held back any longer. What he wouldn’t give just to hold her again, to smell the scent of daisies in her hair.

‘You’ve been so brave.’ 

The Potions Professor continued to sob. He could not find the words to say, nor could he find the strength to say them even if he did. For you, Lily. It was all for you…

Lily nodded her head as if she knew what he could not say with words. As Severus saw the understanding in her eyes, the love and warmth, he felt strong again. At last, he could speak, his voice still filled with longing after all these years.

‘Stay with me?’

‘Always…’
