O-oh, hello there...

So, my family had found and was taking care of an abandoned kitten for the past week or so, and he'd been doing alright. He was a super affectionate and sweet little black kitty with these big blue eyes and he was the fluffiest little guy I'd ever seen. He was super active and playful and would go attacking our hands, but it didn't hurt because his claws were so tiny.

I've been having a lot of trouble with sleep/waking up at decent times because depression, and I woke up super late today and came downstairs to everyone just in a generally bad mood in the living room and found out that he'd passed this morning.

I just wish I could have been there for him at all. The vet (allegedly) said that there wasn't anything we could have done and it was just his time to go, but it just hurts so badly to know that I wasn't there. He died scared and confused on the way to the vet and my heart is just in complete tatters from all of it. He was only 3-4 weeks old at maximum. He was just a baby.

I saw his mom in the yard earlier, and it helped a bit. It seemed like a sign of some sort that he'd made it to heaven safely, and that he'd grow up big and strong there. I wish he could have stayed here just a bit longer and I could have said goodbye, but I know he's in a much better and safer place (and he's far far away from my family and any more pain the world could have caused him.)

It's just hard to deal with so suddenly and in a place with very little actual sympathy. I've already been yelled at like 3 times today.
