Now that I'm officially free from my shifty ex-roommate, how about a list of the repulsive things he subjected me to!
-Invited me into his friend group and then got angry at me for interacting with his friends
-Made very clear his expectation for me to put 100% of every pay check towards rent despite making 2.5x what I did and having 50k in savings when I only had 1k
-Lying to his friends that I was his wife, then calling me "no fun" for getting upset and telling him to tell them the truty when I found out. Proceeded to blame me for his friends hating him afterward
-Told me he was starting to hate me for handling conflicts exactly how he told me he wanted me to (communicating the issue directly and concisely)
-Fed my medically fragile, disabled cat without my permission. Gave said cat unauthorized food
-Left out things that my disabled cat would eat, then blame me for getting anxious and upset
-Cleaned his cat's box only once monthly when he had 2 cats. Would use strongly-scented air freshener to cover the smell even when I told him they were making me sick (they were)
-Knowingly came home with Covid and expected me (immunoccompromised) to take care of him
-Got angry at me for having my partner over after he gave explicit permission for me to
-Asked me to cook for him then either did not eat any of it or said it tasted too bland
-Pressured me into playing a game he liked, then made fun of me for how I play it. Later said that I was "too excited" and it annoyed him
-Would go on week-long trips with no notice, leaving me to watch his cats with no compensation. The one time I asked for payment and he agreed, he "forgot" and then held a grudge against me for reminding him
-Would randomly decide to stay on a trip another day or two, increasing the amount of time I was watching his cats with no payment
-Told me I cried like a toddler and that he got irritated when he could hear me crying in my room
-Constantly rubbed his high GPA in my face, usually in response to hearing me cry about my grades
-Told me repeatedly that my family makes him uncomfortable after I already agreed that he'd never have to see them again (he'd met them once)
-Always offering to pay for things, then getting angry when I took him up on it
-Got a pay raise that doubled his salary and did not tell me. We continued to pay exactly 50/50 when he was then making almost 4x what I did
-Immediately upon me opening up about my stigmatized mental illness, he compared it to stereotypical portrayals in pop culture and continued to make jokes of this nature until I moved
There's probably more but that's the big ones. I need a good cry after trying to start processing this. Fuck👍
