Studyblr Introduction
Hi! I joined the studyblr community a few months ago so this post is long overdue. But, better late than never.
About Me
You can call me Elle (a pseudonym). I'm 17, biracial (Indian and Caucasian) use she/her pronouns, and live in the States. I'm in my fourth year of uni on a pre-med/science track.
Interests
• history (particularly ancient history, history of medicine, South American history, and/or Asian history) • medicine (especially genomics and the applications of targeted gene therapy) • molecular and cellular biology • philosophy (i just started getting into this field so i don't know much yet) • history of cults and cult psychology
Hobbies
I play the piano and oboe (although I've bee taking a break recently from both). I started crocheting in the fall of 2021. I used to consume books obsessively but stopped in high school. I've been trying to enjoy reading for myself again. I used to love fantasy and dystopian but now I am starting to like classics and poetry. I collect mugs (I particularly love Polish pottery) and fuzzy blankets. In addition to collecting mugs, I love tea. My favorite types of tea are masala chai, jasmine, and milk oolong.
Why I Made a Studyblr
During my sophomore and junior years of high school, I dealt with some family and mental health issues. After that, I lost my love and passion for learning and struggled to maintain motivation for my academics. Over quarantine, I found the studyblr community and started to feel that genuine love for learning that I had lost. Being part of this community makes me happier and lets me enjoy learning again.
Final Notes
I am so excited to be part of this community! My inbox is always open. Don't hesitate to reach out to share something cool/interesting, ask for advice, or just vent!
