Mara dodged the harpoon but only just. She felt the current of water shift as the barbed spear came within a breath of her purple shimmering tail. She splashed back hard, rocking the attacking ship and fled as fast as she could, as far as she could.

Lucanis stood, schooling his face into an expression of blank nonchalance, no trace of the excitement he felt at the return of the mysterious beauty who had haunted his every waking moment.

With a studied casual air he leaned over the railing and smiled slightly despite himself. "Don't you look lovely holding onto the railing of my ship?"  

Mara let out a small huff of amusement. "And brave too, after you tried to catch me with a net last time."

"Ah, but you see, how could I resist when someone as pretty to look at such as yourself is presenting itself to me like this? So is there a reason you came here or did you just want to admire me again?"

"You were the one skinny dipping in my lagoon...but...I am being hunted. I need your help. Please?"
