both robert and chad are obsessed with the fact that herm is so domestic. in a way that he likes keeping everything clean around the house, cooking and baking, wearing their clothes while he's doing it. everything about him just screams husband material.
but one thing that drives them crazy is when herm is cleaning up something and he needs to bend over, or get on his fours to get something under the table. he does it without even realizing how he shows off his flat little butt to his boyfriends at the moment. how his back arches just a little bit.
both chad and robert give each other a stare whenever they see herm doing it.
i had posts about how robert keeps a picture or herm and beef in his wallet and at his cubicle at all times BUT i imagined something similar with teen watermech
robert would keep a picture of herm in his pocket when they were teenagers. one of these dorky ones they made in a photo booth, him kissing herm on the cheek while herm is all red, shyly looking away. when he became mechaman, he started keeping a picture of herm and later on a picture of beef in the mecha suit as well. after the suit got destroyed he moved the picture to his wallet and to his cubicle. he always keeps a picture of herm and beef with him.

Waterbat where Herman is very confused when Somar expresses that he's interested in him. Yes, part of that feeling is from his low self worth and his history of being mistreated and unwanted by others, BUT the other reason he's confused is that Sonar has been er...vocal about having a preference: Boobs. Sonar has expressed how much he loves boobs, and Herm is flat as a board. He figured something like that would be a dealbreaker for Sonar, among other things.
Obviously that logic is flawed, Sonar does like him as a person, and Herman is still very attractive appearance wise. Just because Sonar finds boobs attractive, it doesn't mean they're a requirement for him to be attracted to someone.

sonar then of course tell herm that he doesn't only like him because of his body, but his personality too. he's cute inside and out to him. he likes him, so herm should stop worrying so much and just go on a date with him.
the divorced parents watermech au but it's herm joining sdn and z-team only after the shroud fight (robert's idea. he wanted herm to be able to do what he wanted to do forever but... more safely? just being a hero with robert's help and the safety sdn provides)
he sees robert interacting with mandy/courtney and kind of just assumes they're dating or having this flirting banter with each other even though it's all purely platonic between them now. and robert tries REALLY hard to get another chance with herm because shroud is no longer a problem and he can focus on that.
but herm doesn't want to ruin whatever robert has with courtney/mandy. if he got a new girlfriend, it's fine. they've been divorced for years and their kids are already grown, they'll understand. and he's still very much oblivious to robert attempts at flirting with him and trying to get back together.
their kids are done with them both.
teen z-team and teen watermech thought
every time watermech fall asleep together on their hangouts/sleepovers, z-team try to draw on their faces with markers and take pictures of them. they can't really do it on herm because he's constantly wet, but they go CRAZY on robert's face. just the dumbest stuff ever.
they also just take a lot of pictures of them being lovey dovey and romantic to make fun of them.
teen watermech finding out about herm's healing powers.
robert accidentally cuts himself and after herm fusses over him, he asks robert if he wants herm to "kiss it better". robert, of course, immediately nods because he's not declining a kiss. herm gives him a small kiss on his cut, before seeing it slowly disappear right in from of them.
both are so surprised they just stay speechless and look at each other in shock.
(i think herm's powers already slightly healed herm before, like from small bruises and stuff, but they didn't know he could heal other people too)

How would Robert and Flambae deal with that?
i can see both robert and herm having one of those days where they don't want to leave their rooms at all. when robert is having it, herm always comes by, walks beef, makes robert food, feeds him, talks to him with some head scratches while he's doing it, everything he can to make robert feel a bit better.
for both of these scenarios i'm going to consider herm who now lives alone after his granny's death, because even when he was having one of those days when his granny was still here, he would get up and take care of her. he had too many responsibilities for that.
for watermech, i can see robert doing something similar to what herm does for him. he notices herm not being at work early in their shift. usually herman comes in even before the shift starts, helping out and cleaning something that needs to be cleaned, but now he was just not... here. and it was weird not having him here. he texted blazer, saying that he needs to go and see if herm is alright, so after the first shift, he went to herm's apartment.
he has a spare key, so opening it wasn't hard. what he didn't expect to see is herm laying in his bed, not even saying anything or looking at robert. robert rubs his head for a little bit, before asking if herm was having a bad day. herm just nods, not even giving robert a look.
robert apologizes for not coming sooner, and then gets to work. he orders some food for herm (because he can't cook for shit), cleaning up a little bit around his apartment while they wait. he feeds herm, seeing how upset he seems right now. lays herman's head on his lap and just pets it where herm likes. lets herm silently (as silently as he can. i see herm as a rather VERY loud crier) cry, still petting him and whispering something to him. he tells herman what was going on at work today. lets him fall asleep in his arms. just everything he can to take care of him.
chad's a bit different. he sees herm not coming to work and blows up his phone immediately. a million calls and texts. after zero answer, he just leaves work right on the spot and flies to herman's apartment to go check up on him. he doesn't care if robert's yelling in his ear as he takes the earpiece out.
when he gets to herm's apartment, he just sees herman in his bed, shrunken into himself, not looking or speaking. he stays quiet for a bit, before sighing. herm thinks it's a sigh of disappointment, that chad is going to think he's even more pathetic and weak than he already was.
for chad it wasn't a disappointed sigh. he just... remembered how he had something similar back in his villain years. times when he was the most depressed. when he wouldn't even have anyone taking care of him. so he wants to be here for herm if he actually wants it.
he goes and cooks something for him. leaves it on herm's nightstand, seeing how herm wasn't even eating it. he huffed and took the bowl into his own hands, making herm sit up for a little and feeding him.
he sees herm still shaking even after eating. shivering, as he tried to shrink into himself even more. flambae just wrapped his hands around him, trying to make the most comfortable temperature for herm right now.
he hears robert and z-team calling and texting him. he'll get to it later.
Watermechbae situation:
They notice Herm isnāt in and Robert and Chad are confused and VERY concerned. Like..their boyfriend is usually there BEFORE they show up. Huh??
They text Herm. They text him again. Herm isnāt answering. Chad starts calling and he gets no answer. Robert goes to call but he hears Chad go āFuck this shitā and he storms off. Robert is telling Flambae to get his ass back there but Chad flips him off.
When Robert canāt get a hold of Herm, he starts getting worried. Heās not answering his calls, or Chadās calls. Is he hurt? Is he in danger? He tells Mandy that he and Chad are concerned. Heck when she learns that Herm ISNāT answering either of their calls she lets Robert go too. This could be something serious.
Robert is pissed cause he has to WALK to Hermās apartment where as Chad got to fly.
Speaking of Chad, he makes it there and he goes inside with the spare key Herm gave himself and Robert. And itās quiet. Itās still. Chad does feel a bit nervous but he goes looking for Herm, b lining it to the bedroom.
When he sees Herm, curled up and so still, heās legit worried for a split second until he can see Herm is breathing. He sighs. And Herm feels worse.
He hears Chad step out and he can hear Chad call Robert. Now Robert is gonna know. Now theyāre both gonna see how stupid and weak he is. Theyāre gonna hate him and leave him, or laugh and leave him. He just closes his eyes and hopes itās all a dream. He knows it isnātā¦
Robert gets a phone call from Chad and heās concerned. Chad says Hermās not doing so well. Robert is even more concerned but Chad clarifies that Herm is okay physically and heās alive. Heās just..having a bad day. A REALLY bad day. And Robert knows what that means. Hermās been there through their own ābad daysā as Hermās called it.
A day where you just..feel the worst out of nowhere. And that bad day can last a bit.
Chad says heās gonna make Herm food but he better get his ass there soon. Robert says maybe if he could get there faster MAYBE he would have been their already.
Herm can hear Chad bickering with Robert on the phone before he says āOkay bitch love you tooā and hanging up. And when Chad doesnāt come back into the bedroom, Herm is even more nervous.
He doesnāt know Chad is in his kitchen making him food.
Robert finally arrives and he asks where Herm is. Chad points to the bedroom and Robert is going there immediately. When he sees Herm curled up, just silent, trying to ignore the world and yet he canāt help but drown in it, he goes over and sits as close as he can to Herm.
Herm opens his eyes and sees a concerned Robert before looking blankly ahead. Robert rubs Hermās shoulder, asking if itās a bad day. Herm nods and Robert pets Hermās head. Robert says Chad is cooking him something. Theyāll take care of him now.
Heās always taking care of everyone else after all.
Chad comes in with Hermās meal and he knows Herm might not eat it on his own, so he tells Robert to help him sit Herm up. So they do, Herm resting with his back to Chadās chest and Robert in front with the food. Robert feeds Herm while Chad holds him and gives gentle, loving and comforting touches.
Once Herm is done, Robert sets the food aside and joins in on holding Herm. Herm immediately slumps, sandwiched between his boyfriends, head on Robertās shoulder
Then Herm starts shaking. Then they hear him start to sob. And instead of the loud wails and sobs, itās quiet. Itās like heās forcing himself to be nothing more than a whisper.
They just hold him, whisper love and praise and give him numerous kisses.
i didn't even realize that maybe the anon was actually asking for watermechbae and not two separate scenarios šš
but anyway, this is adorable. i just love the idea of herm never getting taken care of before, and now having two boyfriends who actually take care of him and love him. who are willing to be there with his throughout his bad days. the only other person who used to take care of herm was his granny, but it was different from how chad and robert do it.
now he just gets to lay between them without worrying about anything.
i have a hc that robert calls herm duck or ducky because... herm loves ducks. herm is a duck himself.
so if they end up having kids, robert starts calling their kid "the duckling"
i literally bought a rubber duck a couple weeks ago and named it herm LMAO

and honestly i can see both herm and robert calling their kids "guppies". robert loves herm's connection with the sea and it's creatures, so their kids are like little sea creatures themselves, like their dad. while herm just likes the word and thinks it fits. imagine their kid seeing the show "bubble guppies" and just going "omg! it's me!"
hi! i know you didnt mean anything by it but the post about wb breaking his goggles and being blind is a little ablest. As someone who needs glasses those ARE disability aids AND are expensive. Having someone loose their aid and then be described as a cute helpless kitten is somewhat infantilizing and dehumanizing.

i had this thought for dispatch actors au, mainly watermech. herm is a still pretty new actor, getting used to the business and all, and robert as an actor who's been doing since he was a kid because of his dad.
and like. my thought right now was them acting together in a romance movie/series and having to act out a sex scene. they're very awkward as it is, imagine herm who gets flustered really easily doing it. maybe it would help out if his character is similar to him. (i hc that he would usually get casted for characters who are VERY similar to him personality vise. so herm just has to act like himself for a lot of times. there was a few roles for him where he had to play a whole different character and it was such a fun experience for him)
robert does his job nicely though. really professional. but even with robert acting so professionally herm is having such hard time to actually focus. he can't act out that type of scene with a man he had a huge celebrity crush on for YEARS.
waterboy being so deep into his insecurities of not being good enough for robert, he keeps having dreams of robert getting with someone else instead of him.
they've been together for a while now, already living together and herman is still having those dreams. every time he gets even the tiniest bit of insecure, he ends up seeing this dream of robert getting with someone else. it doesn't matter with who. usually it's someone from their social circle. sometimes random people who tried to flirt with robert. but he keeps having them.
he doesn't tell robert. usually he just wakes up in the middle of the night and sobs for a little, clinging to robert's sleeping body tightly. he's scared of robert leaving him. of robert realizing herm is a loser and he could do so much better.
