hc that robert sleeps the best when he's cuddlng with herm
the first time they spend the night together (not in that way), robert gets the best sleep he's ever gotten in years. herm was worried robert wouldn't be comfortable because of his water, but robert was out like a light in just a few minutes and he wakes up like 11 hours later like this
Villain!Robert idea
also on the thought of Robert being pushed into hero work without really considering his own wants or desires, I feel like getting closer with Waterboy (romantically, platonically what have you) would sort of make it fully click that it wasn't ever really something he wanted
like obviously Robert wants to help people, or at vary least he's good at it and he can find it fulfilling, but to me the way he talks about being mechaman it sounds like he does it out of obligation rather than any actual wanting on his part to be in the mechaman suit, despite everything working out for him to do so I just don't see him ever really enjoying it
Waterboy on the other hand (assuming he is picked for Z-team) has to fight like tooth and nail to be a hero, even with his powers they don't provide an easy straightforward path to being a successful hero, it's a goal he chose and is choosing to work towards even when everyone around him is saying he can't, it's a career and role he's clearly passionate about attaining and enjoys doing it
I feel like Robert seeing that spark in Waterboy and looking inward and realizing he really does not have it in himself would make a decent dent in the idea that he has to go out and die in that suit
thinking about these bugs and how robert hadn’t even been dropped yet this wet fuck’s already cheesing with his arms out. ik he wanted to catch that man FIRST like a bride’s thrown bouquet he was Ready im crying. what is his issue

t4t watermech to me
watermech but age gap is just a teeny tiny bit bigger...
Robert talking to Herman about his early days as Mecha Man and how he was fucking it up for a little bit after a failed mission to make Herm feel better.
Off-handedly mentioning that he started at nineteen years old (in like... '99) and laughing like, "You weren't even born yet, I bet. Things were different back then."
Herman learns some things about himself and Robert is deeply unaware. (He was born in 2002 (in my humble headcanon) so he's 24 and Robert is 40-ish.)
They started dating. They behave naturally, being themselves.
Oh well, I think drawing Dispatch fanarts reduced my drawing skills, in a way, as it became kinda difficult for me to draw people in a more realistic style (namely Directive 8020 and House of Ashes fanarts I'm currently working on). :/
Or maybe it's just the current manic episode. Can't do anything properly, feeling absolutely atrocious, hands shaking, cogs not moving, unproductive at all.
