Obviously that logic is flawed, Sonar does like him as a person, and Herman is still very attractive appearance wise. Just because Sonar finds boobs attractive, it doesn't mean they're a requirement for him to be attracted to someone.

i just love this au concept and seeing people's different takes on it bc it's sososo cool

So I did make a post but since it covers some VERY heavy and dark themes I won’t repost it here. This is definitely a “read at your own risk” kind of things and please pay attention to the tw tags! Anyways I’ve developed this Au with @lio-the-chaotic-nonbeanie-weenie and also this IS Watermech centered. Villain Watermech

I will talk about some some things on here! These do not need trigger warnings (I think?).

Villain Waterboy has been outfitted with a mask that connects to a tank that sprays water from his hands. This is NOT a unique concept btw. Robert has made him some goodies that he can hook up to his set up that allows him to spray Cryogenic liquid or Acid at his opponents. He can also just throw them at his opponents.

He LOVES knives. They eerily make him happy. If he doesn’t have his tank on him or his tank becomes damaged, he has a knife on him. He keeps one on him at all times. Plus if he shrugs off his tank and set up, he moves MUCH FASTER. If he’s using his knife, you’re screwed.

He tugs and pulls at his long hair when he gets too stressed out or too angry. Robert seems to be the only one who can get him to stop. It’s a miracle he hasn’t lost any hair.

When he’s not in his wetsuit and tank get up, he wears black turtle neck halter tops. The ones without sleeves and show off the back. It’s..kinda hot. Robert at least thinks so.

Herm does not smile for ANYONE who isn’t Robert. In fact he thinks everyone who isn’t Robert (he would spare Chase though) can die for all he cares. Robert is the only one who makes him happy. The Z team know this and are VERY wary of him.

Herm and Robert are..above marriage they’d think. But Herm still wanted some token of commitment or at least something that showed others that Herm was Robert’s. Herm suggested being branded (even though it would heal). Robert is like “Or I could just make you a collar? Is that cool?”. Herm is so excited to wear a collar (it has some cool tech stuff with it).

Robert wears a very techy mask to hide his identity and control things. Herm will give kisses to the mask and giggle cause he knows Robert is smiling underneath it. The Z team are also VERY curious what Robert looks like without the mask so they try to catch him. Herm is VERY protective and will beat the shit out of anyone who tries to look at Robert’s face.

He still loves ducks and marine life, but he DESPISES heroes. Even when he and Robert “join” SDN, he doesn’t give a shit about being a hero or not. They do juuuust enough to keep out of jail. Well…SDN hasn’t caught their..other activities.

Herm literally treats Beef like he’s his baby. He’s his and Robert’s son and he loves him very much. Sometimes he’ll wrap him up in a blanket and sing to him and bounce him in his arms. Beef gets sleepy and snuggles in his arms.

Other villains around LA are terrified of him. They were already scared of Shadowhacker (Robert’s villain name, @lio-the-chaotic-nonbeanie-weenie came up with it) but Herm (has no villain name. He’s just called “Shadowhacker’s lackey” by most people but his “hero” name is Waterboy) is TERRIFYING. They know Shadowhacker can sic his lackey on them at ANY time and the lackey does not CARE.

he sees robert interacting with mandy/courtney and kind of just assumes they're dating or having this flirting banter with each other even though it's all purely platonic between them now. and robert tries REALLY hard to get another chance with herm because shroud is no longer a problem and he can focus on that.

but herm doesn't want to ruin whatever robert has with courtney/mandy. if he got a new girlfriend, it's fine. they've been divorced for years and their kids are already grown, they'll understand. and he's still very much oblivious to robert attempts at flirting with him and trying to get back together.

A B S O L U T E L Y Y E S

Like legit I think the aquarium is a place they LOVE to go on dates at. Heck I’ve talked with @lio-the-chaotic-nonbeanie-weenie before how after they get married they have their first ever wedding anniversary and they have a picnic (Herm introduced Robert to picnics and he’s like ‘holy shit these are actually cool’)and they go to the aquarium!

They definitely go a few times before they ever get to that point though.

And since they’re in LA, that means they go to The Aquarium of The Pacific. They have a nice rehabilitation program there and do a LOT of conservation work, so I think Herm would adore that place.

And they just take their time. It’s a rare chance they can just..slow down together. And sure Herm is excitedly looking and talking about all the creatures, but he also isn’t rushed. Robert doesn’t have to rush. He can just admire and listen. He can even comment a bit or ask questions and Herm is just the happiest.

They get to see sharks and penguins and otters and sea turtles and various fish. It’s too many to count. Heck Herm and Robert get to pet a stingray.

But the most special moment is when they’re watching some jellyfish together.

They’re just watching these beautiful creatures float and move around. Robert sees Herm watching them with wonder and a smile. He can’t help but smile. He then decides to “woo Herm” a little.

“Did you know that Jellyfish don’t have brains? Or hearts?”

Herm blinks and he nods. He says they also don’t have lungs. And Robert nods.

Then Robert starts saying all these facts that are VERY basic facts about jellyfish. They aren’t hard to look up. Herm is confused cause this is entry level fun facts and well…the others have said he’s quite knowledgeable about creatures that live in the water.

And as Robert goes on it clicks for Herm

Robert researched jellyfish. Robert researched jellyfish…for him. Robert has always shown interest in his topics of discussion..but here he’s giving it back to Herm. Sure, it’s not what Herm is used to, but he’s at least matching Herm somewhat.

Herm actually blushes at this. He’s..never had anyone do something like this before.

Herm doesn’t know what to do but Robert sees Herm is blushing and he can’t help but smirk a little. He asks what’s up. Herm says Robert looked up facts..for him. And Robert nods.

Robert says he’s not the smartest in this area. Not like Herm anyways. And he loves when Herm tells him all this cool stuff about topics he’s passionate about. He loves interacting with with Herm and seeing him light up when he asks questions or makes a comment and it just gets Herm more excited.

He also knows how it feels to have someone do that in return. He knows Herm doesn’t know much about machines and some forms of technology cause of his water. But it always makes Robert feel special when Herm tries his best to ask questions and repeat things, or point something out when he gets what Robert is saying.

He wants Herm to know even if he doesn’t understand, he loves this part of him, and he always likes engaging in it. Plus..jellyfish seemed the most easiest to learn?

Herm finds himself speechless, red and he’s trying not to tear up. His heart is beating fast. Robert..did this for him. He loves Robert so much. He loves him he loves him he loves him he lov-

“D-Did you know s-some jellyfish are Ed-e-edi-can be eaten?”

Herm is still red, nervous that Robert is upset when Robert’s smile goes to confusion. He looks at the jellyfish before turning to Herm.

“What the fuck? Really?”

Herm talks about Romans eating jellyfish and Robert just looks bewildered. He’s quiet for a moment before saying

“Did you know jellyfish are fucked up?”

And Herm laughs. He can’t help but lean down and give Robert a kiss. And he quietly thanks Robert.

Soon they’re leaving the aquarium with a little bag of souvenirs and in them are matching keychains (I don’t know of what. Maybe it’s like, a really cute fish, or a starfish, or a sea turtle. Maybe some dolphins? Otters? A clown fish and an anemone?).

They go back to work later and Herm is showing off his keychain and gushing about their romantic date to some of the team when Robert comes by. And Herm perks up and asks if he has his keychain with him. And Robert pulls his keys out of his pocket and holds up his keychain.

He can’t help but smile as Herm grows giddy.

herm’s hands are big enough to hold all the booty, too. you could have a flat booty, a fat booty, a [blank] booty and he’ll still be able to grab and squeeze! he uses it like a stress ball lol

Oh Herm would be a mix if excited and freaked out. He loves you so much and touch is a huge part of his love language, but he's scared to over step since he knows you don't normally like it.

He acts like one of those people who are afraid of cats when a cat sits in their lap, just completely still and letting you make all the moves yourself. He's going to cautiously move his arms to wrap around you, very slowly as to not upset you. He's trying real hard to not give into temptation and smother you with affection.

The second you start shaking, he's moving his arms away and asking if everything's alright, apologizing immediately. When you explain to him that it's just because you're sensitive but you want him to continue, he buffers for a second, before happily continuing to hold you and rub your back, a goofy grin spreading across his face. He thinks it's the most adorable thing, you shaking from enjoying his touch so much.

robert accidentally cuts himself and after herm fusses over him, he asks robert if he wants herm to "kiss it better". robert, of course, immediately nods because he's not declining a kiss. herm gives him a small kiss on his cut, before seeing it slowly disappear right in from of them.

both are so surprised they just stay speechless and look at each other in shock.
